A quick recent flip on COMC - Giannis, and a shout out to SCL

I know I have NEVER started a post in the basketball forum here before... I've responded a couple of times, but never started one. I didn't have anything worthwhile to post. lol

After watching various episodes of Jeremy's Sports Cards Live, starting in particular with the Brian Gray interview, I've been attempting a bit of flipping, but with a really limited pool of money and only on COMC - it's the only tool I feel like wielding right now.

Anyway, I purchased a Giannis Prestige RC on COMC May 25 for $63.25... And I woke up this morning to find it had sold for $89.74, which means I got $85.25 in my pocket... that's a 35% return on investment... in 9 DAYS.

I'll take that all day long.

Could I have held out for more? Sure - there was another one on COMC went at $99.74 last night too... but I'm happy with where I was at.

So, a shout out to Jeremy, and his guests for expanding my hobby involvement and palette. Much appreciated!

Yea Antetokounmpo’s rookies have gone up in value..

On Black Friday Antetokounmpo’s Hoops rc’s were going for $12-14.which I had quickly grabbed abt 8 of them. They were the and I believe are still the cheapest of his’s rookie, but they went up to $50-60 dollars.
I had also purchased Prizm & Select rookies. which I was able the make profits off of too.
Even COVID Didn’t stop the price that his cards were going for.

That's awesome! I consider my COMC 'money' as found money, so it's just to consolidate small cards into bigger cards, and flip the odd thing here and there. I'll be curious to see how things continue to unfold in the market.

That's cool but not everything is quick flip on there. I've been on there for 3 years and some items take a lot of time to grow into a flip. You can easily spent 2k and have to wait a few years for MOST items. if a lot of comc folks think it's this easy will get bored pretty ****ing quick

Oh, I totally agree Ameet - I would never expect it to be sustainable or quick... I've got a few cards that are longer term. I was just surprised how much this one went up in such a short time.
