I'm sure you eBay.ca folks all got the message this morning. They are removing the option to list in USD.

So, rather than list in USD and save yourself the exchange headaches, you will now be forced to list in CAD and get screwed coming AND going on exchange.


Thanks. Really eBay. As you continue to spiral the drain, maybe y'all oughta ask yourselves "What would happen to our bottom line if we treated the SELLERS like customers instead?"
 
Was a lot easier dealing in US funds for other on line purchases. This is just another brutal move on their behalf will have to switch to ebay.com and see how that works
 
just not sure why they would do this... what difference does it make to them.. especially if i am buying cards in usd and if our prime buyers are south of the boarder. big mistake.
 
I've been exclusive to eBay.com since I first started back in early 1999 and I've never had an issue except for Canadians that don't look at me being based in Toronto, ON asking if I ship to Canada.

eBay can go f**k a melon and that melon is eBay.ca.
 
I thought there was something forcing Canadians to sell via .ca

I used to sell through .com years ago, but then had to switch. Any comments or experience of what is needed for a Canadian to sell on .com?
 
I thought that if you listed on eBay.com, you had to use their shipping rates? I know that when I tried listing an LP on there, the max I could charge for shipping to the US was $4, which is crazy for a package from Canada to the US. Other than that, I don't recall anything else too strange?
 
I've always, and currently have stuff list on ebay.com

I search ebay.ca when buying so I know what it is I'm spending in our dollar but I list everything on ebay.com.
Only hassle is that to send an invoice I can't on ebay.ca and have to switch.
 
As has been said above, I have never listed on .ca only on .com and so far (knock on wood) haven't had any issues.
 
Surprise surprise another I hate Ebay thread. I don't know why anyone continues to use that corrupt and criminal site. I much prefer the local LCS and shows for my hobby needs. I can see what I am buying in person and avoid all the S&H BS.

For many of us, eBay is the only way to sell our inventory.

Buying in person is one thing but I'm not one to hoard so I sell as quickly as I can and unfortunately, eBay is still the best option yet manages to be the worst at the same time.

Like it or not, eBay remains the single biggest venue in which to buy and sell. Lots of potential competitors have risen at the periphery, of which the strongest is COMC...and they don't come close to eBay's throughput. The ePack handling may serve to level them up, but that's still a long way off of being able to compete with eBay on all fronts.

Could you make the argument that with COMC using Amazon, it has a further reach?
 
Some of us don't have a Local Card Store, nor much in the way of Card Shows. Personally the forums like this one are my favourite way to get cards, as you get to really talk about the hobby with people who are as passionate as you are. But not everyone who sells on eBay comes here (a shame really!), so a lot of my cards still come from the auctions.
