I am not understanding the logic behind this card. Why wouldnt they just use a puck? It just doesnt make sense to me..

probably had left over baseballs fromt he baseball product ... never did like these cards, some ppl do tho ...

Sweet Shot was the Hockey version of the previously released Sweet Spot baseball. Collecting autographs of people from all walks of life and across different sports on the "Sweet Spot" of a baseball is very popular. This concept met with a luke warm response in the Hockey collecting world. Perhaps because many or most Hockey card collectors only collect Hockey. That is not the case with the other 3 sports.... Anyway, those Sweet Spot autos are very rare. I've only seen a couple of Messier's and a couple of Lundqvist's. I have a copy of each and they are among my favorite cards. Perhaps it's because I also collect Baseball. My $.02... Mike

It's different - people slag UD for putting out the same thing all the time - so when they try something different - they get slagged as well. Personally, as a hockey collector, I even think that hockey collectors, as a group are the largest bunch of complainers of all the sports. Most don't even realize how good they have it relative to the other sports

I am one of the people who happen to like the Sweet Spot cards. I was lucky enough to pull one of Jari Kurri in a group break on another site and I just can't bring myself to sell or trade it, I even had someone offer me a Wayne Gretzky autograph /199 from UDA and I still can't decide to make the deal. They are rare and unique. They are not serial numbered and seeded sometimes one per case, sometimes two, and sometimes none at all.

I have yet to to see the staal version of this card.. Id pay a nice penny if I ever do..

That's the other thing about these, there is a lot of good players on the checklist and half of them have probably never surfaced. There's no way to know if they exist or not, and if one does appear player collectors go crazy for them.

I know I'm definitely in the minority in this one, but I personally love that set. So much so that I'd trying to complete it. I've knocked off some big ones (Howe, Crosby, and just recently, Lemieux) but I'm still far off of the set. I've never a Staal either, but a lot of these cards are rare, and due to the general unpopularity of 07-08 Sweet Shot, hardly every turn up.

Dont get me wrong I actually like the look of it, I have a few baseball versions. I was just curious as to why they dont use a puck (I think someone here has a kovalchuk auto´d puck). Was also curiosu to see if it was just me that took a slight liking to these.

I have never seen any other ones besides bergeron (the only other one i have seen was also bergeron). So Im assuming they are pretty rare indeed.

$200 bucks huh? Id hate to see what one would sell for that had him in a rangers jersey and had an auto that wasnt partially cut off in the beginning.

Looks like it was just 3 people that made the price nearly double, but still. Guess these really are pretty rare.

That was only the second Messier to surface thus far. Some moron in Georgia owns the other copy.:o

I am a big fan of those, I own the Turco. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the autographs from that set weren't released. I have yet to see a Turco Endorsed Equipment from that set.

believe it or not, there's a huge following for autographs from famous people on baseballs. it doesn't matter really even matter who. i never really understood it but i'm glad UD does and tried something new. i'm a fan of my Lundqvst sweet spot auto. :)

I've always liked the idea...didn't understand it at first, but it grew on me. My concern is the auto fading, which has happened to MANY of these autos in the past.
