What do you guys think, when is someone late in sending out a card?

A week after payment was received? two weeks? how about 22 days after received Paypal payment? that is how long I had to wait for the seller to send out my card.

I know there are much bigger issues in life, especially now with Christmas and all, but still...I personally would never wait until someone asked for their card after +3 weeks to send out my end, and with no better explanation than "I wanted to send out in bulk so I waited until I had closed a few more deals".

Hey, I have no car and I don´t live very close to a P.O. either but I always send out my end quickly and if for some reason I wait more than a few days I make sure to let the other party know, to me that is common sense and a respectful way to act.

You're not overreacting. 22 days is ridiculous. In my opinion, if it hasn't been sent out within a week the seller/trader needs to, at the very least, send a message letting the other party know. And if you can't send it out within two, that's just plain disrespectful. If you make a deal, follow through or don't make deals.
 
I had the same thing happen to me with a member on this site. I don't mind the three weeks if they have the decency of sending a message. We all get busy it happens. I would have been very understanding if a message with an explanation came. It leaves a sour taste in your mouth when you know the other party couldn't be bothered to either send the card or send you an update.
 
Myabe the seller was waiting for paypals new thing where you have to wait 21 days for them to release your money? Either way, 22 days is much to long to send something out.

I agree with this. I try to send the same day sometimes....other times it is within 2 days. My PO is somewhat close though.

That shouldn't be a excuse. If your going to be busy during the holidays, don't sell cards around that time imo.
 
I will agree with everyone else that three weeks with no communication is inexcusable to begin with. But the rationale that he wanted to wait until he'd sealed more deals just makes it even worse, quite toolish in my opinion.
 
WTF I feel bad if it's more than 2 days no joke.

22 days? I can't even begin to fathom doing that to someone.
 
While I agree that the timeline is long, we never know what's going on in the person's life outside of cards. Sometimes when you do a deal, you get blindsided AFTER the deal is done and don't expect to have to wait weeks to send. Not defending this particular seller, just saying that we don't always know the background so let's not crucify the person just yet. After all... it's Christmas! The crucifixion wasn't until Easter :p

There is no excuse to sending out that late WITHOUT communicating it to the buyer.
I have had more than my share of tragedies or difficulties in the past 10 years - but I have never been late sending out a hobby item - much less a household bill.
Cripes- it takes exactly 2 minutes to package and send the item - and even if a person is paid once a month - I cannot believe they have not had to the 2 minutes necessary to get this done. And even if they do not have the time - I really could not believe they were not at the very least on the internet in that 21 days to take about 60 seconds to email you.

And if this is a Hobby Insider seller it should be duly noted - and an n Ebay seller should get the appropriate seller grades and a Neutral Feedback rating.

I don't typically join these kinds of threads, but I think I lean more to the boss's observation than the above post.

Sometimes emergencies happen, and sports cards are the last thing on anyone's mind. It happens, and it's never planned for. Having said that, any leniency would need to be balanced with the reputation of the sender as well as his/her trading history.

I have no idea who is being talked about in this thread, so the only thing I know is that I don't know enough about it. Put phasers on stun please :sniper:
 
This guy deserves no slack on this at all. He admitted to waiting to send in bulk
later on. WTF is that, you get paid, you send the card promptly or communicate with the person, so they know where things are at.
I have to give this person the big thumbs down for being such a jerk.

Exactly. There was a time a couple months ago where I wasn't on the site for a week... and I own the joint. I had to focus on my business and my family and it took substantial priority over anything hobby related.

Now... I don't know exactly the details of this deal, but at least you got the card(s) safely... there's countless situations where cards never arrive at all.
 
Bruce - really I do understand.

But not being on for a week is not the same as 3 weeks.
I am not sure you can compare the time frames.
