And so it begins with Yzerman's new signing deal with Upper Deck.

The first release is from 09/10 UD Exquisite Basketball.
I am sure some of this is because it is a high end release - the Crosby/Gretzky etc have all been high as well....... but I am sure that most of the new Yzerman Autos from higher end releases will do well also.

Makes these additions painful to say the least - if they happen at all!!!!

I know there are some hardcore Stevie Y fans still collecting (obviously), but I doubt those will stay that high. They won't come down as far as some others, but with Yzerman just starting to sign for UD again, there is scarcity in play, the impact of which will be dramatically reduced over the next while, as he is included in more, and more products.

With a print run of 25 - I think that they will most likely stay at or near $350+.

Remember this is a Basketball release with hickey players in it - so you have a whole new group of set collectors, and they love Exquisite. Add on the Stevie Y collectors and there is demand.

If you want to know how hard core Yzerman collectors are - just take a look at the prices that the 01/02 SPX Stevie Y Tribute Autos still bring. 19 sets of 19 cards serial numbered to #/19 - that is 361 total cards. look under closed auctions and you will see one just sold for $300 Best Offer - still selling at Beckett HI eight years after the release. Imagine trying to put together a set of those!!!

I'm always surprised at what those Tribute cards go for. I wanted one, but 'settled' on an 01/02 Auto'd 2c tools of the game from SPGU.

The 12/25 (1 color) ended for $308 so the prices are coming down. Most if not all of the patches have been 1 color. For the 2 color ones...the reason there is a 2nd color is because it was part jersey and that to me reduces it's value. So far the only one with a nice patch is the 1/25 and that was seen on UD facebooks page.

As fas as the Patches goes - I am suprised that after not featuring Yzerman for 3 years that UD even has any patches left. Perhaps they bought one from Hockeytown Authentics???

Nice card, i know becorse i have one of the 19 cards...
Realy nice and hard to get!
I did have a plan to make a set, but i did the maths and understand that it's like at least $6000 (low number i know) and for that kind of money i think i go for a Ovechkin or Crosby Cup RC, even if the Yzerman whill hold the value beter!

these cards will sell high because of set collectors, exquisite has a big following but if you look at the completed auctions, the hockey guys are selling really well. Look at the other cards in the set, jordan sold for 6100, Russell for 1175(2 color) and 700 (1 color) etc etc.

I love this set, too bad they did not have an ORR version. Wonder what that would go for.

i purchased the 2 color one. Paid more than i wanted but i am attempting the set. 12/18 purchased with 6 to go. i will show a scan when i get them all. SOme are redemptions such as the Roy, Sanders, Peterson and Erving.

Sweet! Glad you were able to get one. So far, I have seen 8 different ones show up on ebay and will track to see if any more show up. Always fun to watch.
