And the TV Ratings Keep Getting Better.

This year has really been a perfect storm for the NHL when it comes to viewership - obviously the Olympics couldn't have been more entertaining and drawn in more people than they did. They really had it teed up to have two historical franchises with frustrated fan bases in the finals that happen to be from two of the largest markets in the US.

Hopefully they can use some of this new found leverage to get back on ESPN - overall I think that Versus has done a solid (not great) job of at least getting the games out there but their market reach just isn't there. We'll see how it all shakes out but it would be nice to see the populous tuning into the sport again.

Encouraging news. When one of the big US markets is performing well in the playoffs, it's a win for the NHL where US viewership is concerned.

Flyers = ratings. Winter Classic and Cup finals were both the highest ever, and the Flyers were present for both....any where you go in America you will 100% find a Flyers fan.

If you really want ratings SHOW THE ICE GIRLS MORE. Wake up leafs and wings and the rest of the teams that dont have them, we need ice girls, The cheerleaders of the NHL
