None left to pursue in this set anyway ;) Without further ado, the last one I needed to complete the Bure portion of this insert set:

Congrats! I was trying to figure out, but is it possible to place these four cards in display so that each of the 4 Bure patches are right next to each other? It would be easier if I had them in my hand.... j/k

lookin at them it wouldnt be possible, seeing as all the bure ones are on the bottom :(

I think it could be done, but two cards would have to be upside down. Leave the bottom two as they are. Take the top two and rotate them 180 degrees and move them down below.

Whatever you do, awesome collection.

Cheers,

Congrats with those cards!! Extraordinary patches (and I'm not talking only about the Bure ones)!! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks all for the comments! Really appreciate it.

As for the Bure patch collage, something like this you wanted reoddai?

Or only the Bure patches:

Great stuff! ITG really kicked butt with Superlative cards, regardless if there are pictures or not... the patches are SICK.

The only thing I noticed is that the bottom left Bure patch is a Canucks one vs. being an All-Star one (unless there's an all-star patch that has Canucks colours?). Regardless awesome cards!

The Bure patch with blue, silver, red and white on it is from the 1998 All-Star Game, which was played in Vancouver. I can't find any photos right now of the event, but I'm guessing that either every player, or only Canucks-at-the-time - like Bure - had some kind of Vancouver-style patch on their jerseys. Can't be sure.

Another fun trivia thing that popped up when I googled this was that that card includes a Gretzky patch as well, and in that game, Gretzky became the all-time points leader in All-Star game history by scoring two assists. These small things make these memorabilia cards that much more interesting - as opposed to UD's standard "used in an official NHL game", even which one doesn't know if it is safe to believe in. So I agree, well done, ITG!

Janne,

Congrats on the very, very cool Bure pick-ups, I hope you track down the other 2 Superlative cards very soon.

I've definitely seen one of these on ebay shortly after the release of Superlative..
