I picked up my son from school today and on our way home I asked him if he wanted to go to Walmart to see if there were any 15-16 hockey cards on the shelves. I was really expecting to not see anything 15-16 related at all but there was some on the shelves. I told him to pick a box to buy. He was holding the box the whole way home but I could see how excited he was. We got home and he started opening packs. He got to his 3rd package and when he reached this card, he froze and I looked at it and said "YOU GOT A McDAVID!!!!". He put the cards down, screamed, ran all over the house and then had tears in his eyes. He is 8yrs old and I couldn't have been more happy for him. Straight to a 1 touch and team bag on his request. Great Friday! Happy Hunting! The look on his face was priceless.

When I was a kid that young my father was bringing me home packs of early 90's Pro-Set. Needless to say I didn't pull anything of that magnitude

Good for him though, what an incredible pull in such an early card career.

Oh the Pro Set of the 90's..... Reminds me of my childhood....now if I could just find about 5 of those Bloody Nose Paul Gillis cards....

That is awesome that you get to share the hobby with your son. Amazing and then an amazing hit.

Congratulations on being a super parent and then the hit as well.

Thanks for the great comments everyone. As much as I enjoy opening packs myself and hitting something great, seeing the raw excitement of your own kid hitting his favorite player on his favorite team was one of my top days as a dad. That may sound silly to some but anyone with their own kids will understand. Now...if they could just start putting together some wins.
