Another Etiquette Question

So just received my end of a fairly low end trade. I posted it up and mentioned shipping procedures. The cards (2) came without penny sleeves and were together in one oversized top loader. They were not damaged, but I'm kinda annoyed that they weren't packaged like we agreed upon. I know no harm no foul, but if I knew the person was going to send the cards like that, I would avoid them because of the possibility of damage. Anyone else feel this way? Should I mention something to the person?
 
Im not always a fan of this method, but you should just call them out....you'd be doing a favor to every other member on here.
If it states it in the deal and then they cheaped out, I think a call out is well-deserved!

Either way, just my opinion!
I hope there is a rainbow at the end.
 
i've put 2 cards in 1 oversized toploader before but each card was in a sleeve and snug, not loose. Unless youre short on top loaders I dont see the big deal in that, but I guess if the cards are loose, moving around and not in a sleeve, it's a different issue. As long as the cards arent damaged I say it;s okay.

okay I didnt see you agreed on a different method of shipping before the trade. I say you notify the shipper and let him know he went against the guidelines of the deal.

I often do that, particularly with auctions - someone's won six base card parallels offa me, and it's easier to tuck them - sleeves and all - into an oversized toploader bolstered with cardboard than to throw six toploaders in together. Keeps the weight down and shipping charges down.

That said, if you have agreed to something different you have a legit beef. If there's no damage, then simply raise it as a concern with your trading partner:

"Hey, we agreed to X and you didn't do it. There's no damage, but please don't do that again or I will no longer trade with you."

No need for further drama.
 
If you're not happy, you should mention it. I ship in one top loader as well but I make sure the cards are safe enough that I would be okay with it if it arrived to me in that fashion. cards, penny sleeve top loader with opening taped and bubble mailer. No complaints yet.
 
If I complained everytime somebody on here deviated from the "norm" in regards to shipping practices, I'd have awfully few people to trade with. As long as an obvious effort has been made to protect my cards from damage, I don't sweat the small stuff.
 
Simply send a polite note that is common courtesy to protect cards involved in trades in a generally acceptable method - that being including a plastic sleeve within the toploader. If that is too much trouble - than you will pass on any future trades.

As far as multiple cards in plastic sleeves within a oversize toploader - that is perfectly acceptable.

I cannot recall a single instance of a trade being sent without a plastic protective sleeve - and I have made a few!!

I always try to keep the least amount of plastic as possible in the mailers. That said I always (hopefully unless I'm having a stupid moment) put individual penny sleaves in there.
 
I don't have a problem with people putting multiple cards into a single top loader.

But I do hate when I receive cards without sleeves on each card, which has happend to me a few times. The sleeve protects the corners of the card from getting damaged within the top loader.

If you received the cards in good condition, I would just send a note to your trading partner advising him to use individual sleeves next time and point his way to this thread.
 
I'd just send a note that if they want to send without penny sleeves at least use a snap case for the cards, loose in a TL seems odd...
 
Yup... multiple cards is absolutely fine by me... It's the lack of penny sleeves that's bugging me!

you know i would not care as long as the cards are not damaged. If you think on the other side of the fence, its expensive to always ship cards in toploaders. Primarily i ask the seller to use express post with secured shipping and that way we skirt the issue of how it's packaged.
I would be okay since the cards were not damaged.

If you are trading, you SHOULD be receving toploaders in return as well. Not to mention that toploaders were agreed upon.
 
I always ship in TL's thats just me.. i have recieved items in 1 massive top loader but they allcame in penny sleeves. what really gets me is whenupper deck send the redemption without a penny sleeve that kills me
 
I do what Quincy does with multiple cards - sleeves and then put in a thicker top loader together - ALWAYS in sleeves, though.

If I am using a multi-count box, however, then sleeves don't fit, so you will get cards that way with no sleeves, but it would be mentioned in the transaction ;)
