Another Fake Gaborik Patch?

Spotted this beauty on eBay:

But compared to a similar patch from Mafia member Pat, the lettering from the border seems much larger than what you would find on the actual shoulder patch:

Kidding. I bought mine from Mark (LogoPatchFella) from his 100 case rip, or whatever. That one on eBay looks really suspicious to me. Stay away.

To this day, even though I don't collect Gaborik anymore, I have envied your Cup patch and when I saw this one on eBay I almost made a push for it. It's in my nature now to investigate nice patches that I consider going after so it's a good thing I did

That happens a lot, he might have picked it up at the Expo from someone looking to unload it offline.

Yeah, kilga's pretty much on on the up and up...I would think they were more the duped in this case than the duper.

Yes, I saw this and questioned it right away. I resized this card with one I had with writing from the shoulder "WILD" patch. As you can tell, the writing on the eBay card is way too large. Probably doctored with one of those oversized WILD patches you can buy online. Plus why are these always scanned blurry so you cannot tell what the serial number is??? On purpose??

I went to the Seller kilga and asked about this card and told them it looks like a fake and where did they get it.

His response was:

Thanks for the information. this card was part of a huge lot I bought several weeks ago from a guy who was building the set of Limited Logos and decided to stop. Although I do have confidence in the person who sold me this card so I have kind of mixed emotions right now.
I will also try to call Upper Deck to see if they can verify that information

I have just called the person who sold me the card and left him a message to ask him where he got that card. I will keep you posted.


So it sounds like he got it not knowing it was doctored. ???

And who knows where the person before got it from????

I'll know more later...I hope.

It definitely is not a real Wild jersey patch piece.
