Another First in the Hobby for me

Decided to host the monthly poker game at the house tonight where we have a friendly game of Texas Holdem, drink a couple of beers (or a bottle of rum in the case of me and bluewhitey) and bust a bunch of wax.

I lucked in and was the first guy out of the first of four tournaments so I opened a box of SPX. First box of this stuff this year...and last!

4th pack in the pack feels light with one, possibly two cards inside. I pass it around and we all agree that it possesses a major hit. Most wanted me to throw it aside until the end but curiousity got the best of me. Opened the pack to find a single thick card....a filler! Unbelievable, not a single base card. In fact not a single card whatsoever.

Rest of the box was etrocious to say the least. I think this could be the one the throws me over the top rope and out of the wax business all together. THere were no SPX Extremes, no hits, auto jersey was someone who retired after the Quebec Pee Wee tournament. Total garbage.

Now that was not bad news. I wanted a box of Contenders. Couldn't find it in the mix so I opted with the SPX. 10 mins after that gspell decides to open the Contenders and pulls the RNH auto patch /100.

My only question is "Why me?"

cyril ...I think I can top that. Two boxes of spgu left at a trade night. I talk the other guy into taking one and I'll take the other. I tell him to pick first but he makes me . So I just grab the closest one . my box was sheeeeit and was also missing a hit. I left him the canucks eights patch 1/1 which sold for $1000 BIN after about 10 minutes om the bay. At least you got to play some poker.

On the bright side, at least you didn't pull something that you had to give to Gary.

Got a box of Parkhurst this year, not one auto, not one wire photo, and my only hit was a colour rendition of Mikta...... oh and only 3 mini's
Contacted UD and still waiting to hear what they plan to do. Not that I mind but it was in the first week it came out so I paid the max on the box lol

I saw someone open a pack of Sp GUE last week that had two base cards and a decoy. No hit at all. I see it occasionally every year with some products.

Yikes... that may explain the hobby's lack of enthusiasm for this year's SPx. UD can release gems, but every now and then they really drop the ball.
