Another Paypal fee thread...

Haven't seen this anywhere else, forgive me if it has already been posted.

It looks like Paypal has noticed people using the "Gift" option to avoid fees. As the sender of a 'gift' i was just charged .20 cents. No big deal, but that adds up if you're sending lots of 'gifts'. Oh well, when does that HI Marketplace open? I'd rather send fees to the site than Paypal.

You are charged a fee if there is not money in your paypal account.
You have the choice of paying the fee or having the recepient pay the fee (I believe).

That was how it worked for me.

Interesting. Guess I had $ in my account the last few times I did it. Thanks for clearing that up, but now everyone knows I have no $$$!!!!!!11!1! :giggity:

Yup, if you send a "gift" using $ from your credit card they charge a ridiculous fee, something like 10-15%

And I know there's a whole other thread about it but, how long do they hold payments for? I sold an item a few weeks ago and the payment is still being held. Do they wait until feedback is left?
