If the season were to be over at the break, who would you vote for as NBA's Most Improved Player?

IMO, this is a tough one. Some players seem to have drastically improved from last year, but it may only be because they were finally given minutes (like everyone on the Bobcats roster). Others improve whether or not their minutes are increased. And some are just all-around better even though their numbers may not show much -but check out what they do for their team (i.e. Luke Ridnour).

This first poll will be to determine who the 10 finalists will be. So type in your top 5 votes for most improved, in no specific order.

Brad Miller- he is just a beast this year
Matt Barnes- went from scoring next to nothing to being a plausible starter

i may add more later

hey Sports can you think of anyone not on the Kings? :)

Secondly, hmm gotta go with Rashard lewis for no reason other than the fact he finally made the all star team.

lol naw not at the moment, i watch these guys alot and have seen them progress.

but thats like watching your little brother play baseball and watch him get better, you arent going to call him the next Nolan Ryan just because you watch him more than others, there are other teams than the Queens :) j/p(at least on the Queens remark)

oo u better be kidding forte collector, go ahead and look at both brad millers and Matt Barnes stats and then come back to the big boys table :)

Grant Hill comes to mind, he did bugger all the past few seasons, this year he's an all star :P

I'd also throw in these guys:

Amare Stoudemire
LeBron James
Gilbert Arenas
Dwyane Wade
Al Harrington

I really like these choices so far:

Lebron James and Wade ~ both went from star to superstar
Bobby Simmons & Udonis Haslem ~ both have more minutes, but have shown drastic improvements
Tinsley had about 7 more minutes added this year, and yet almost doubled his points (8.3-16.4)
Marko Jaric has improved in every single category (even less turnovers)
Brevin Knight ~ wow, this guy has almost doubled his assists
As for my team (yes, it's hard not to favor certain players when you watch them so closely over the years)- Luke Ridnour has proven he can take it to the hoop. He's also been one of the reasons the sonics are so "together" this year. And he's improved his 3pt and free throw shooting to be one of the best. Rashard Lewis has improved his game in many ways (especially his inside game and jump shot) and Vladimir Radmanovic deserves a look his way. He is going to the hoop nowdays which makes him so much more dangerous.

Points per game and rebounds and effiency doesn't mean your good. Matt Barnes does other stuff that doesn't show up on the stat sheet.

efficency doesn't mean you're good?
so kevin garnett (having one of, if not THE highest efficency rating) isn't good?
I know there are other things, but you can't say efficency isn't important. Thats like saying just because someone can cook good doesn't make them a good cook

In the tradition of Sportscardsetc, I'd have to say it's between Bobby Simmons, Marko Jaric, Mikki Moore, and Rick Brunson. :)

But for reals, Larry Hughes and Dwyane Wade.

You missed the sarcasm again missnemith.

I would actually have to say Simmons would be a good candidate. Barnes is better, but hey, I guess I can't win em all

 Zikes! ok, got an idea :D ... why don't you use one of the smilies when you are jk so we know
~ since I can't read your face or voice inflections :)
thanks again for clearing things up though. thought you were losing it. ;)
