another question about epacks and young guns

I contacted Upper Deck about Series 1 and if they will be available as epacks and they said that they will be. That brings me to my question. So, when they are available, I buy "virtual" packs and somehow "open" them and then Upper Deck will mail me all the Young Guns and inserts I pull and keep all the base cards? That sounds like a great deal. What are the downsides to this? Just the ability to physically open the packs? For those of you who have done epacks, what condition are the cards in that Upper Deck has mailed you? In the case of Series 1, are these the exact same Young Guns that appear in hobby boxes?

So basically buying hobby boxes is a better way to go if you want quality young guns.

They are the exact same card. What he means by that is since the arrival of ePack and the easy access to transfer your cards to COMC, a lot of people shove all their YG's on there looking for a quick sale. To get these quick sales, they drive their YG prices down, which overall brings the YG prices down as a whole.

There are 94 COMC listings for a Antoine Bibeau Young Guns. Because of the sheer volume, one could be had for 0.75 cents. Good for buyers, bad for sellers.

The downsides:

- You have to pay to have them shipped to you
- Each card you ship to you has a $0.25 card fee when you decide to ship it
- As mentioned above, everyone floods their cards to COMC, and YG values get destroyed.

To answer the other questions, yes they are the exact same YG's in the hobby boxes. Exclusives & High Gloss are available as well. Condition varies, I've seen some people get all damaged stuff, some people get Pristine 10 BGS quality cards. You never know what condition it will arrive in.

COMC is a site that you can buy and sell cards from. Similar to eBay, expect as a seller, you need to ship all the cards you want to list to one of COMC's warehouses. Once you card sells, COMC will take care of the shipping for you (they will package it up and send it out).

Since all of the cards you see on their site are in a warehouse, you can order all of the cards you want at once in one single order, after you pay the preferred shipping price, and the card(s) you order will arrive in one single bubble mailer.

It's great for buyers in my opinion. It's a great way to buy lower-end cards for a deal, and get it shipped to you all at once instead of doing multiple transactions on eBay for a bunch of cards.

COMC is also where you have to place your e-pack stuff to get it shipped to you. Upper Deck does not send it to you. So if you plan on having on epack breaks shipped, you'll need a COMC account. Go to www.comc.com to check it out.
