Another Questionable Cup Patch - Lindros Limited Logos

Check out this Lindros Rangers patch:

The blue material between the patch looks like RBK Edge material to me, Lindros spent time with the Rangers long before the Edge system came out.

Compare to this other card with a patch more appropriate to the time Lindros played:

Not pointing any fingers at the seller of course, just looks like a bad patch to me.

It looks like one is bigger than the other, making the smaller one the A in RANGERS and the larger the Alternate Captain A. The jersey material on the smaller A looks to be out of focus to me.

I took a look at a few of my cards and the Alternate Captain A looks be larger than the letters used for RANGERS.

Your intuition is right. The blue material on the top auction is from the newer jerseys

Well, I retract what I said earlier. The jersey material is plain wrong. I bought another Limited Logo and received it today. The jersey material is from the newer jerseys and not one that Lindros wore. This really pisses me off as a collector.

Now the real question, what do I do? I can't resell card as I know it is wrong. I don't feel that is fair to request a refund from the seller. And I have no faith in Upper Deck making this right.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Makes you wonder if they've got this one wrong, how many other so called game-used jersey/patch/shield cards aren't legit either or mixed up with another player?

Did Lindros not participate in the Legends game before the main event at the Winter Classic? It would not surprise me if that were the case where the jersey came from

To top it off that RBK Edge jersey material was only used for a short time before player complaints led to the Edge 2.0 style with regular airknit fabric on the front panel, like this:

I don't think you can buy authentic Edge 2.0 jerseys at retail so unless the Lindros patches are from someone else's 2007-08 gamer I would say this is some form of "off the rack" jersey in these incorrect Lindros cards.

What's even worse is that if you were to ever throw this back on the secondary market, is that a skilled collector like yourself will scream "patch faker." I know I have thought about that in the event I need to sell my sharks collection because UD used patches that are just plain the wrong material in 05/06-06/07 sharks cards. Limited Logos of Nabokov and Cheechoo in 05/06 Cup included.

Well I have thought this with ALL GAME USED CARDS FROM UPPER DECK. I'm not trying to bash them but they seem to screw up way more than anyone else.

So all the people that have been asking for limited inserts without game used have been getting them for years without knowing it.
