Last night I just picked up my holy grail for gaming. This set was a USA/Gamestop only exclusive. A local seller who had snagged a copy at launch and had it brought up from the US decided to part with it, and offered it up for a very good price. I believe there was only 1000 ever released, and for those of you who are video game collectors, you may know that the statue alone can command prices ranging from $300 to over $1000 CAD. I thought I would never have a chance to own one, but when the local seller offered his up for a paltry $200, complete in box, I jumped on it. His set is in exceptional condition, with only minor wear on the outer box, and a small crack in the styrofoam of the inner box (none missing though....it was caused by trying to fit the statue back into the foam....very tough to do). It still has all the DLC, scratch free steel book, sticker package and unread comic book. Even the electrostatic bag and background for the statue are included.
I don't have pics yet, but here is an idea of what it looks like.....truly one of the greatest games of this generation....
I will be heading to Michael's this afternoon to find a showcase to put the statue in for display. Since the box is already open, I don't have to worry about devaluing it, as long as I keep everything as is.
