Hello gang,

I was just curious as to whether or not there was anyone here on HI that has some expertise in the world of vintage Star Wars/ESB/ROTJ toys.

Some time ago, I took pics of many pieces of my collection from my childhood and uploaded them to Photobucket. As of late, I've noticed that amongst my 3k+ uploads to my Photobucket account (90% of which are sportscards)...the one pic that has blown all others out of the water in terms of number of views is my Empire Strikes Back Princess Leia Organa figure.

Given nobody has posted any comments on the pic, it made me wonder why there has been so much interest in this. So I decided to do some research, and what it appears that I have is an Empire Strikes Back Princess Leia Organa "32-back" (which refers to the number of other character figures featured on the card's back.) And much to my surprise...searching ebay, Rebel Scum, and a few various Kenner/Star Wars collection sites, I've not been able to find even a reference to a Leia 32-back...only 31, 41 and 45-backs for the most part.

The one that I own most closely resembles the 31-back, but with the addition of the image of Yoda in the upper-left corner, which isn't featured on the 31-back...

Could anyone help with some info on this, or perhaps refer me to someone who can?

Thanks in advance,
Josh

Looks like something Kenner sold in the 80s...

That's one of the less common - albeit not necessarily desired - Leia variants.

its about $300 to $400, now if you had the jawa with the plastic cape from the first star wars your look at around $3000

Thank you for the feedback, guys!

gojetsgo-Is this the original (from '77) that you mentioned?...

That would be a 32A back good sir. The first card showcasing Yoda, and still showing the Falcon on the back. Looks to be in great shape, unpunched card is a big plus, price tag doesn't really hurt the price (unless someone tried to remove it and it is ripped underneath), and the bubble looks clean with no yellowing. Value-wise, I would say minimum 180 at auction, maybe a BV of 300-350. Graded, maybe 400+.

It sure is a beauty bud. Are you looking to move it, or just looking for some info?

Rich-Thank you for the feedback. Do you happen to know if there is an official checklist anywhere for the 32a's? I joined up on the Rebel Scum site yesterday and did some further research there, but have still yet to find any pics or mention of another Leia 32 back. I see that the 12/32's seem to be desirable, but those are from the original Star Wars line.

As for parting with it, I would first like to research the rest of my collection, consider grading options on some of the pieces that are in better shape, then go from there.

I've been on the 'Scum for just over 10 years now (yikes!). Great community, just like here.

I can't seem to find a list of which figure was available which card but I believe that the 32A card was only used for the first 20 figures, none of the Empire figures were on 32A's. So many variations on the cards, it is crazy. Good luck on your research bud, and if you ever decide to move this, and other SW stuff, give me a shout.

Thanks again for the help, Rich! After a few more days of research, I was able to dig up a link to a very comprehensive list of cardbacks...

http://theswca.com/images-speci/cardbacks/

With this, I was able to easily identify each piece in my collection, and I went ahead and labeled each of them in my 'bucket accordingly. I also went ahead and uploaded pics of my SW and ROTJ figures, along with some other items...

Nice stuff - I remember that Lando Calrissian being one of my favorite toys as a kid. I'd love to chase down an original Boba Fett figure some time, as I now have a small collection of sketch cards and statues of him.
