Anyone else having Mail Probs?

I did a lot of selling on Ebay over the past month, and it seems that while packages are getting to Canadian and Overseas locations EXTREMELY fast (3 days for Australia!), my packages are taking FOREVER to get to US locations. I have 2 packages that I sent on the 13th of January to the US that still haven't reached their buyers. Anyone else facing similar delays??

Yep,it's taking anywhere from 2-4 weeks for stuff to arrive,and the buyers get real antsy after 10 days.....lol...
 
I'm actually having the exact opposite problem. Things are getting to me pretty quick from Canada, but taking a while for my stuff to get to Canada :(
 
It's really hit or miss for me. Some packages I am sending to Canada from the states are there within a week, and some are taking a month. Kinda the norm to be honest.... Mike
 
Most of my stuff to the states have been getting there quickly. A few of them to small towns and cities have been taking long for some reason.
 
Really slow both ways here. However most of Eastern Canada Have been rocked with wind and snow storms the past few weeks so I expected as much. Unfortunately most US ebay buyers don't understand this, alot epect the package within 3 days....not all but alot do.
 
3 weeks is my normal delivery time in and out of Canada, so I wouldn't start to inquire until February 6th if it were me. Envelopes arrive faster than bubble mailers, only about a week on those (not for cards of course ;) )
 
It appears that the US Customs and Border is inspecting anything over the size of an envelope. There was even something in a paper recently about them even opening private letters to people that were coming internationally, all part of the (for lack of a better term) spy program that GW implemented after 9-11. Don't even attempt to send Expresspost.....they're taking forever with those things....it's bad enough that I'd almost rather not deal with anybody in the US unless I 've dealt with them in the past, because there is nothing we can about it, but we shoulder all the blame for the US Customs vigilance.

I'll echo in on Robs' comments. For example, my Expresspost left here Nov. 30th, still not delivered. Registered with Paypal and repaid the seller again, now fighting with CP to get back my original payment. Guaranteed delivery my you know what! For $250 US too.
 
Yeah I'm having great mail problems. I haven't had a single card delivered to me since monday!! That's not normal!
 
I have one incoming package M.I.A. since December 10th. I'm losing more hope with each passing day.

I also just had one outbound Global Priority package "returned to sender" by Canada Post. :confused:

It's not going to get any better with tax filing season upon us.
 
I received one last night (*February 2nd) postmarked December 15th, 2005 and it came from Minnesota. I could have walked there and back to pick this thing up in that time. The scientists at the post office must be working on a new cure or something...that's the only way to explain such a lag in service.
 
Packages coming to me from the US and from Eastern Canada (that includes anything east of Manitoba, fellas....) are taking a bugger long time to get here.
 
Actually I have been having very good delivery service on items I am shipping to canada - with the exception of the far coasts. Everything in the middle seems to be getting there within 7 days and sometimes quicker.

As far as mail getting to me here in the States from Canada - I have trouble from certain areas it seems:
Getting mail from Steve in windsor - seems to take about a week to 10 days, unbelievable since it is less than 200 miles!!! Getting mail from the Province of Quebec always seems to be a 3 week ordeal.
I follow the PO dates when they are on the packages pretty closely to monitor delivery time and so far I have no complaints!!!

I will STRONGLY urge all of the members that ship between the countries to follow the rules as set forth for shipments between the US & Canada!!!!!
Here are the ones for US to Canada - and you can argue that YOUR local PO employess may have told you different, but they are wrong - LOL!!!!

US to Canada
ALL Bubble Mailers MUST have Green Custom Form #2976 on the package.
It must be filled out ( I strongly urge you to check gift as well!!!) - does not matter how much the package weighs!!!!

You must have a Return Address filled out on your package - that is the Canadian Post Office Rules and Must have a Name & not simply an address

The RECIPIENT's Address MUST be filled out in CAPITAL Letters!!! And it must be in the form of:
JOHN DOE JOHN DOE
123 MAIN STREET 123 MAIN STREET
TORONTO ONTARIO A3B 9K6 OR TORONTO ONTARIO
CANADA A3B 9K6
CANADA

Either way - but Canada must be on the bottom.

I strongly urge all of our members to check their Paypal & their Ebay
prefilled information and change it to CAPITAL LETTERS. I often use
one of these to print out and securely attach with sealing tape their address to my mailers. The use of a Machine Printed Address Label WILL speed up your mail!!!

Also US senders - if you do take your mailers to the local PO - ask them to make sure to put your bubble mailers in the Non-Machine Sort trays. It will not slow down the delivery time and it will save wear and tear on both the mailer and the treasures inside!!!!
And I know that we all know better than to send in white envelopes. This has been addresses ad nauseum - but even if it is not a game used inside - cards just do not last going through the High Speed Sorting Machine rollers. There is inevitable twisting that does the creasing - even through most toploaders!!

Hope some of this helps.
If you read my Ebay feedback - you may find that I seem to have had a great track record by following the rules!!!

I sent a package from California to Massachusets in early Jan. and Andrew still hasn't seen it.

On the flip side, I sent a package to italy and they rec'd it the NEXT DAY!!!

Well, California is like a foreign country to us on the east coast. :p
 
turlelo it is rather obvious your mail person loves to travel to Italy but not to the east coast lol. sometimes our mail system makes no sense. jason
