By Spezza for the Les Cunningham award?

Spezza was up in points, but played 2 more games than Cammalleri - who was ahead in virtually every other category. Was it Spezza's 'hype' that got him the award?

No, I think Spezza deserved to win. This award was voted on by the players of the 28 teams in the league and the media in those 28 cities. I think that the players best know who the MVP should be and voted accordingly.

I think players and media are definately influenced by hype. Do I think spezza didn't deserve it? no, he did. Could Cammlleri have won, just as easily.

Spezza had many games where he would be involved with every Binghampton goal. I don't think Cammalleri did that. Spezza > Cammalleri.

Thanks for your input - I just figured that because Spezza was a bigger name in the NHL before playing in the AHL, he had a bit of an advantage.

Both guys are exciting players, but its nice to see someone less 'hyped' find success even if they aren't recognized for it...

Have you seen Spezza play this year????

Spezza has been a man among boys.

SIMPLY AMAZING.

One thing not considered in the stats... Spezza always looks to make the pretty play & dish to someone else.

How many points did Spezza miss out on, simply cause someone else couldn't finish the play?

I would guess at least 20 points missed.

There were also lots of occasions where Spezza should have shot, but chose to wait for a linemate.

I went to 4 B-Sens games this season... every game, he was simply awesome.

Head to Head, Spezza dominated Cammalleri.
