I know the auction says 2/5, which is the sellers typo, but the card clearly says 2/6....and that don't look like no S to me.

That's what I think too. But that would make it 1/6, 4/6, or 5/6. From the slope I'd say 5/6 is most likely.

i love a good upper deck bashing as much as everyone, but im almost positive thats actually part of an "S", but with the window being so small they would never be able to shape it in such way that its obvious.

I get tired of the bashing but on a card of this magnitude I think it's deserved. I can't say for sure, maybe someone with a Ozzy gamer can confirm, but the S should slope toward the left. This clearly slopes toward the right like the last two Os and the D.

If it is the S, then UD turned the letter sideways and that's just as bad.

I don't think it's part of the S...but my only basis for saying that is the jersey piece in the background. I don't think the airholes or whatever those are spread horizontally on a nameplate, which is how they'd have to be if UD turned the letter sideways.

This isn't a big deal to me really...they randomly numbered all the By the Letter cards in basketball last year. They were bound to do it for hockey sooner or later

I'm not sure (my gut tells me it's an "O"), but for a By The Letter card... this one out and out sucks. It's HORRIFIC. Boo-fricking-urns to whomever let that card into circulation. Blech.

The Wings haven't been using nameplates for years - other than in pre-season - neither do the Rangers or the Kings as far as I know.

So how does this mean that they can't spell? Osgood's name is correct is it not? Doesn't UD send the cards out to another company to serial number them? So maybe the title should be "UD paid some guys to do a good job and they mucked it up". To me, this doesn't seem like that big of a deal even if I was to buy the card.

That is not an S, and it's cut weird because of the rounded shape of the lettering and perhaps another reason as I don't remember the Zetterbergs being cut like that. I also noticed the jersey material is not the normal airknit style.

BTLs are typically displayed vertically, and based on the downward left-to-right slant of the letter, the Ozzy BTL is probably either the 3rd "O", or the "D" (likely cut from a mid-late 90s-style jersey, based on the air hole pattern). Here's my Zetter "G" #10/10 for reference (nevermind the air hole pattern, as this one's cut from a newer CCM jersey)...

The Rangers and Kings starting using nameplates when the edge jerseys came out a few years ago. Phoenix and Detroit are the only two teams that don't use nameplates currently.
