Are you a Master Set Collector?

There are lots of Player and Team Collectors, and others that chase the flavour of the day in terms of the shiniest card. And there are those that chase an entire subset with low populations ( < 10 copies). But how many others out there chase a true master set -- a copy of every card for a product? Since the introduction of /10 or less cards, it has become virtually impossible to do a complete master set in today's hobby.

I have completed 1 master set (2003-04 Parkhurst Original 6 - Maple Leafs) and I know there are HI members that have completed some of the other O6 sets (/20).

I have 2 cards incoming that will kill another Master Set that I have been working on for the past decade.

Anyone else out there that has completed a true master set of <50 possible sets? Anyone getting close to completion?

I was going for the set of Red Wings Original 6 but I am 9 cards short and gave up all hope of ever completeing it. Have seriously considered dumping it but I just cant bring myself to do it yet??

I have the Parkhurst original 6 Habs set. I am missing the HSHS cards for it. I am currently working on the Franchise Habs set. I have finished a lot of the Habs Centennial set. Nedd four more of the AKA, the Shutt inks, and around 100 of the parallels. Selling a lot of my rookies off to fund these. Each year I do complete a set of McDoanlds and SP authentic, but not master sets. I do have some master stes of Mcdonalds including jersey and auto set redemptions.

I tried to do the Mask Collection Master Set without the parallels and I was over 50% done when I decided Hejduk was more important than one of my favorite all time sets. I still have a bunch of them around and I still have the completed glove set

I build a 06 Rangers master set. I couple of my mem cards are show stamped but I still consider it complete.... I am also 90%+ done with a 2003-04 Beehive Master Set.

I'm doing the Pacific Exclusive 02-03 master set minus the gold jerseys /25. Also doing the Pacific 03-04 master set minus the gold jerseys /50 and the base set parallels.

I'd like to turn my 2010-11 Certified collection into a master set, but I'm still just trying to get one of each card of any level. I only have 1 /5 (Platinum Green) and 2 other /5 (Expo stamp) so in order to do a Master Set I'd need to get all the /5 cards too? What about the 1/1 or do Expo cards count too? I am not complete on any of the insert sets, but have the base set of varying degrees. Plus I have to deal with the fact that there are some cards on the checklist that I haven't even seen yet.

Its possible I just picked the wrong set to collect lol.

I've got all but one card (see my sig) for the 2006-07 Beehive Master Set. This includes all the Remarkables out of 15 and the <10 signature scrapbooks and 5x7 PG's.

18 cards away from a Habs Master set from ITG UM7 seems easy but that collection led me to own over 1% of the ITG UM7 cards ever produced.

I completed the Topps Archives master set. All base, auto's, jerseys, sticks, seats. I know there's auto-proof cards too (essentially buybacks), but there's no checklist available for those. I did however manage to get my hands on a Marcel Dionne auto-proof.

I was 13 cards away from the 2000-01 UD heroes master set. I gave up as it was not fun anymore. It doesn't help that 2 cards I needed I had my best offer and the sellers said they would not sell for that price only to sell it for the price I offered to someone else 2 days after they told me they wouldn't sell it for that price

I've completed the 99-00 Topps Premier Plus Master Set and am 1 (to 4 if 3 cards I've never seen were made) cards away from completing the 00-01 Topps Premier Plus Master Set. I'm not sure how limited the cards are, the dual autos are probably the shortest, but I'd have to guess that they are 100+ but I never really did the math.
