Armando Galarraga

What a class act Galarraga was during that moment, after the final out, and during his interviews. His interview was pretty good. Had no hard feelings towards the umpire and truly believes he is sorry after talking to him. He also said he'll get a copy of the game on a dvd so he can one day tell his kids that he did pitch a perfect game. I also feel bad for the umpire, he realizes that he screwed up big time and there is nothing they he can do about it.

After hearing Jim Joyce speak of the blown call, I have no doubt in my mind he feels horrible. I appreciate that he called the play the way he saw it. I would have preferred him making a call that he believed at the time was correct rather than making a call to "give" the pitcher the perfect game.

The human element will always be a part of the game. As much as it can sometimes suck...I like the fact that it is a part of the game.

Wow...just wow. Not sure what's more shocking. The blown call...or the fact that this was the 3rd (or should have been) perfect game thrown this season. There were only 18 in all of MLB heading into the season.

Jim Joyce is umpiring the game today ( home plate ) ( tigers game ), I wonder what kind of reception he will get, With any luck maybe a redbull plane will fly over at the same time when his name is announced and get a standing ovation. lol

Considering that Galarraga went out and delivered the lineup card and shook Joyce's hand - the reports I have is that Joyce received a nice round of applause at that point. He was also given the option of sitting this game out, but he's gone out there and taking it like a man. It is sad, because Joyce is one of the best umpires out there - and doesn't usually do idiot things to bring attention to himself like Angel Hernandez, Bill Hohn and Joe West have done in recent days.

The whole situation was rough but you gotta give credit to everyone

Galarraga for taking it like a man and showing people how to act classy during a tough situation

Leland for not complaining after the game about Joyce and saying what a good ump he is

Joyce for admitting he was wrong and showing class by apologizing to Galarraga. I honestly felt bad for him and we all make mistakes and it's always nice to see someone own up to it.

I actually had an order for the best card ever. Forget the Mayan Calendar...the 1990 T/M Umpires set can predict anything...I MEAN ANYTHING!

For those of you who can not read the scan it says the following:

"You Make The Call... can a game be protested on a judgement play of an umpire be upheld?"

I kinda want to keep it now.

The Tigers bought him a Corvette today. Both took it well, Selig has not been happy with the umpires this year. I expect some sort of changes to come about very soon

Class act from the Tigers fans giving Joyce a hand of applause. It was also nice to see Miguel Cabrera and another player giving some encouragement towards Joyce.

Djsports, awesome card.
