Nice pickup for the Rags. Not considered a starter, but always seems to come through when called on, and his numbers are pretty good for a "backup". Should provide some relief for Hank.

I hope that he has a good stay in New York. I always liked Auld as a Canuck. He should be a reliable backup for sure.

I believe I called him signing with the NYR a few weeks ago, Ill take over for Sather beginning this fall....

Auld is a very very good goalie who could easily be a #1. He filled in for lengthy periods of time on every team he has played for, and has never looked overmatched. The Rags meanwhile, have not had a decent backup goalie in a long long time, so this is a nice change. Auld has the ability to start 2 or 3 games in a row and not make Ranger fans cringe at every shot (like Weekes, Labarbara, Valiquette, et al)

I doubt he'll see a game for the remainder of the season. Maybe come in a few games when Lundqvist gets pulled a 3 or 4 times. Great pickup.
