It's been a long time since I did a show and tell, and I think a first time in this forum...
After watching many breaks and seeing the awesome and sometimes not so awesome sketch cards pulled on this forum, I'd been itching to give it a go. Opportunity knocked when my daughter had a tournament in Buffalo over the Easter weekend that put us in the middle of Dave and Adams card shop country. We made a visit and after checking out the prices, I decided to grab a box of Marvel Beginnings and a box of Marvel Universe.
I opened the Beginnings box first since it was a Long Shot to get a sketch card... love the base set and inserts, and was happy to see that I did pull a sketch card, then turned it over and went... what??
1970's circa Dazzler silohouette... or ink blot... take your pick.
Psychiatrist: "Tell me what you see."
Me: "Disappointment"
But, in the end, the cards were nice, the price was right, and I had a good time busting the box, so not too bad...
I then moved on to the Universe box. I believe these were guaranteed to provide a colored sketch card... well, I was not disappointed when I finally hit my sketch...
Young Avengers by Eman... now, the subject may not be the most popular, but I have to tell you, I was blown away by the detail in this sketch; the coloring and fine line work is amazing. The scan just doesn't do it justice.
So thanks for taking a look... I must say, it was nice to bust something again!
