Way to go AVS!!!
Theodore was outta this world and Forsberg looked like the old Foppa 2nite.
Here's hoping the three other series' go the distance!

Woo! So awesome that the Avs advanced! Theodore has been a wall. Hopefully, that play continues into the second round.

Theodore is playing for his next contract! I just hope we dont have to face Detroit in the next round, although they have been looking pretty bad recently

Forsberg looked like the old Foppa 2nite.

Agreed. Forsberg did look really good out there.

What really got me in this series is the fact that Marian Gaborik got owned by the Av's D. I thought for sure that guy would be a lot more productive as I don't consider the Av's d-men to be anything too special?

Looks like the old times will be new again in round 2 if Detroit wins tonight.:)

That was a fun game for sure. Pepsi Center was rocking pretty good at the end of the game there, I could barely hear myself yelling.

After the game the "Red Wings Suck" chant started, lol. And it just so happened that's the shirt I had on under my jersey, so I showed it off and got more chants started. :D

Here we come second round!

That was a great series to watch for any hockey fan. Hats off to the Wild, they really played some great hockey with effort the entire series...it was a hard fought victory by the Avs for sure. Was really impressed with Koivu and Burns for the Wild...a couple of great young players. Backstrom played a heck of a series as well. I have not enjoyed a series like I did this one since the old days of playing the deadwings.

Theodore...you know...if you would have told me at the beginning of the year, that he would steal a couple of playoff games for you, or at least keep you in the games for a period or so...I would have laughed my rear off. Man, did he play well in that series...the Wild had some spurts in the last couple of games where they could have taken over the game and made things tough for the Avs, but Theo came up HUGE. Good to see Forsberg have a good series as well...I know Peter is playing well when almost everything I have read from Wild fans or sportswriters has to do with Forsberg in a negative light...means he was on his game :D I thought the D played really well as well, Foote did an awesome job on Gabby, and the other guys just played smart for the most part.

Heres to a Wings/Avs 2nd round matchup...would enjoy that tremendously.

Here's a funny stat:

Though Minnesota won two games in the series, the Wild only led for 4:31 out of a total of 384:23 minutes played (1.2% of total time). The Avs, on the other hand, had the upper-hand for 199:12 (51.8%) during the six-game series. The teams were tied for a total of 180:40 (47.0%)

Oh yeah, and I'm glad Gabby finally got a point. :owned:

Cole, no offense, but that "Red Wings Suck" stuff is the kind of junk that gives Av's fans a bad name and makes them look ignorant.

I gotta say this:

If talked right now to 100 Red Wings fans and 100 Avalanche fans I would have to say 75-85 of those Wings fans will give me a solid conversation about the game of hockey while I will likely only get that from about 30-40 of the Av's fans.

It is truly that big a gap in the "talent" level of the fans.

That's just my take, as you were.......

I absolutely agree, I can't stand most of the fans at the Avs games. You're probably being generous saying 30-40. I sit in a different seat every game and hardly ever does someone around me really know what's going on. They just sit there like idiots and yell "shoot" continuously while we're on the PP. I hate that more than anything.

Last night I had a guy ask me three times what icing was and then what number Forsberg was, and he was wearing an Avs jersey!!

And as far as the Wings, I like their team now, save McCarty. But the "Red Wings Suck" chant is good hearty fun, and I enjoy it. If that makes me ignorant, so be it.

Except when you wear your Forsberg jersey to a game in Detroit against the Avs! Which I did a few years back. Got nothing but drunks coming up to me trying to start fights. I was with a buddy who was a Wing fan and after that we made a trip to Denver against the Wings and my buddy wore an Yzerman jersey and not one problem. Hmmm, now who has better fans?

Wings won, but Avs only play Detroit if San Jose wins tonight. If Calgary comes back in the series the Wings would play the Flames and the Avs would get winner of Dal/Ana.

I beg to differ, but before I say anything, I've never been to an Avs or Wings home game.

However when I go to card shows at my local mall and meet dealers from Detroit, they kinda get into it when I tell them I'm an Avs fan. I asked a dealer if he had any Joe Sakic or Peter Forsberg cards, he told me he burned all of them and had no respect for either player... Idk if its true but that guy looked serious and looked like I insulted him.

I go to another dealer and he blabs on about how much better the wings are than the Avs while I'm going through his cards. I honestly ignored him but all I remember was he called the Avs the "diveavalanche" and he dropped either an "F" or "S" bomb every other couple of seconds.

Then again these are just one or two dealers out of the many but they were quite rude... never did/will buy anything from them.

Edit: Also forgot to mention... the one dealer told me about how the Red Wings are going to build a 40,000 seat stadium..... lol

It's shaping up to be a fun second round, regardless of who wins - Avs play either Dallas or Detroit. No love lost with either team, really, and it'll be a fun series to watch.

Although I don't WANT to root against the Flames, I'd rather see Detroit/Colorado. That's always been a great matchup in the postseason.

im so excited that avs advanced, i catched the first wild win on the tv, and after that i stopped watching, cause ive been jinxing avs all season when i stay up until 2-4 in the morning watching hockey.
but now in the semis ill probably watch more:)
