...nothing outstanding with any members here or on the 'bay, but just a note to say I'll be away the better part of the next week. Taking the bride away for her birthday week. When's it fall? On 9/11, 'course.
Burning a timeshare week to go out to Hancock MA, population 721. The attraction? Well, there's the Shaker Museum... and, well... uh, that's about it!
This week off will be more about downtime than excitement, but (a) that's not a bad thing in and of itself, given my job lately, and (b) I try to do something special every year for the wifey... especially when on one 9/11 before the one everyone else remembers, we buried her dad.
Yeah, I know.
So you can understand why her birthdays are a challenge for me... hence our trip to the town named after THE John Hancock. About a half mile from the VT border and about as far west in Massachusetts as you can go before you hit Albany. Three hour drive, with the pooch riding shotgun (and likely puking at least once on a ride that long!
).
There'll be multiple books to read, a lot of wine, some guitar playing and some antiquing, I'm sure. Hey... you younger members, don't roll your eyes! You'll learn soon enough about the things you do for your significant others!!!
Anywho, in the off chance anyone reaches out to me here between now and Friday, don't think me rude... but I don't get the sense this place has internet connectivity.
