As much as I dislike the Pens, I have to give Talbot some credit for what you are about to read. I swear on my life this is true. I was over at my brother in law's house over the weekend and I see a signed 8x10 with double matting hanging above his fireplace. I notice it is a picture of Marian Hossa, in Wings jersey, slumped down on the boards after losing the Cup for the 2nd year in a row. Not only do I find this photo odd, it is more puzzling to me why Hossa signed it. I did not recognize the autograph on it, but knew it wasn't Hossa's. My brother in law then told me the following story:
Sometime this fall (don't ask me when), Talbot was doing a signing at a local mall in Pittsburgh somewhere. My brother in law brought the picture just to see if he could sign it "F U Hossa". Max said he couldn't do that because if it ended up online, all hell would break loose. Instead he signed, in beautiful blue sharpie with a nice big auto/inscription "Poor choice b!*<H Max Talbot". He then said he would give it to Jeremy only if he swore he would never put it on eBay or sell it, it had to remain at his house. Now, because it's his and due to his promise with Talbot, I have no photo of it but like I said, I swear to God this happens and I think it's hilarious how Hossa was reviled in Pitt (and now Detroit). Take care

I believe your story and this is why I love inscriptions. My favorite autograph in my collection I have is from Chuck Bednarik. HOF Eagles, I dont have the actual picture signed in my photobucket, but he signed this photo:
chuckbednarik.jpg

Inscribed: This game is f***ing game is over. Chuck Bednarik HOF 1967. Under Frank Gifford's body he wrote: "Sorry Frank"

Thanks for sharing both stories...hopefully others will add to this thread or perhaps it would be a good idea to start a thread dedicated to "unusual player inscriptions" to attract more posters...

I have a photo of a Mickey Mantle signed baseball that says "F--- Yogi" that went up for auction a few years back. Apparently Mantle would write that and similar little dedications for his close friends...
