Back from the Expo and BOY are my fingers tired...

...from opening 4 cases of UD All World at the UD booth!! :eek:

Everyone was going snake over the Priority Signings. But for me the hour-long lineups and the Brooks Oorpik redemptions just didn't cut it. I think the UD show cards were the best deal at the show. So without further ado...

First off....four cases should yield at least a few nice autos... ;)

The beauty of these is that they are part of the autograph "set" and none are priced "due to scarcity". I spoke to one collector doing the set on the weekend and he claims to having never even seen a Tanguay before. I smiled. :)

The multi-player autos are gorgeous! I also pulled a grossly undervalued Kurri/Loob #/25 that I sold to Quincy cheaper than normal because, according to him, he needs "room" when he buys cards. Like why the hell do I owe it to him to give him "room" on cards he buys from me?? Sheeesh. ;) Anyhoo, he had a card I wanted so I did the deal.

Now...the reason for all the pack-bustin...

I think these are the gems of the show. Some of the Priority Signings were nice but to get 30 of these gems for opening the case was a deal too good to pass up. I pulled one of the Phaneufs (wink to all those who were there busting the case with me) and I traded for one...gave Hans at Gamebreakers a deal he couldn't pass up. Thanks again Hans.

Finally, I picked up soooooo many cards in trades but these two are the highlights. The Kobasew Notable Numbers #2/7 is for my bud Matt/Phate. I hope he was just joking about all the man-love he's feeling for me as mentioned over on the "other" boards. :eek:

Anyhooo....last word is for all the board members I ran into this weekend. I should really keep a list as I cannot recall all of the names but I can safely say that they are all fantastic collectors and great people and it's always a pleasure chatting with anyone from the HI boards. I am looking forward to next time when we can do that all over again!
 
Very nice - glad you enjoyed all the pack busting! Did you pull a Weekes or Samsonov expo parallel? Those are the only two I'm looking for, so let me know, and thank you :)
 
Very cool pickups. I was just like you...The #'ed cards were too good to pass up and the prices of all-world were incredible. I busted two boxes and got that pretty quad auto. Looks like between me and you we busted all the boxes with the multiple autos! congrats on the nice cards.

Out of curiousity, what were All World boxes going for?

The All World was $480 a case so no deals...but I was finding at least one numbered (usually two) numbered autos and one SP autos per case which should cover most of that cost. Plus all of the regular autos and parallels...plus the numbered cards. Great value.

Erik - I have no idea what you want. I thought Moe from Wests has what you want? :confused:

Ryan, the show cards are awesome bud. I can attest to Ryan's dedication to the All World product, everytime I stopped by the booth he'd glance up while sorting All World breaks,lol. Great to meet you in person.

Jordan - lol, thanks man. I ended up coming home with 5 Lombardis and 3 Sauves. As for the nickname, well, I used to be 6"5 and 390 lbs but the taunting from Wayne, Steve and Cory caused me extreme trauma and forced me to lose some weight...and height... ;)

Cory - you wha? You threw them out?? I'll bet there were at least 5 parallels in there that I missed. Aw well. As for spring...for now I'm out...but I might change my mind. I'll let you now tomorrow.

Dan - great meeting you. I actually didn't put two-and-two together and realize that "Merc" from the Beckett boards was you from these boards. Else I woulda tried to flog some of my Leafs stuff to ya! Oh well, maybe in the spring (see above).

Steve - whateva. Enough of the nicie-nicie. Time to get back into "me vs. mod" mode once more. Till we meet again...

Would be interested in Spezza, Havlat or Hossa expo cards if you hit any.

Or for that matter the Hossa auto (#71), or the Kurri auto (#108), or either of the Gold Kurri's (16, 108)
