Did anyone see this? The tweeted the changed on the 30th of March.

Then 48 hours they released this statement:

What would've been the long term effects if they went through with it?

Sounds like they were trying to match PSA in the grading scale but it just backfired. I guess it probably sounded like a good idea because PSA 10 can vary anywhere from a BGS 9 to BGS 10, but a BGS 10 will almost never be less than a PSA 10

I agree. There seems a wide range in quality when it comes to PSA 10s.

Personally Im a little bummed. I had a bunch of cards that wouldve been upgraded to BGS 10s. Oh well. Would love to crossover to PSA 10s, but I don't like their "pay even if it doesnt crossover to a 10" policy.

They were destroyed EVERYWHERE. Every turn they made, they absorbed another slap from collectors. There would have been a revolt if they didn't do an about-face. My suggestion was to take their 9.5 with all 9.5 subgrades and change the flip to say "True Gem" instead of "Gem Mint". Seems like running the show there is pretty easy.

I was hoping they would actually do this because all my BGS graded cards are all 9.5 with a 10.
