Ok, I'm selling my autographed UDA Wayne Gretzky Autographed Jersey but when I took it out of the case to take photos I somehow lost the hologram as it fell off. I didn't even realize it happened until I was looking at the photos days later. Anyway...its gone. I was told this happens often to the older jerseys and mine is from 1996. Anyway for my question. I was told by people I know that Beckett and psa will only authenticate in person. But, I have an interested buyer who said he sent a photo of my autograph to Beckett and they said it's unlikely that its authentic and he is now waiting to hear from PSA. Is this true....do they provide a service like this? I know 1000% it is legit and was planning to keep this forever but life has happened and I need to get some money together. Any info would be great.

Have you contacted UDA to see if they can provide another hologram?

PSA and BGS offer a quick opinion. That's what your potential buyer has used. I'd start with UDA and even bring it to the Expo if you can to have them examine it. That jersey would have come with a matching COA and UD should know their own product. While you're there, you can get BGS or PSA or JSA to authenticate the jersey if the UDA attempt fails.

I agree with what Ryan said... I'm also curious if you can share a photo of the autograph... Gretzky UDA autographs are usually of high quality and care. I'd wonder what it was in the look of the autograph that would raise concerns.

Thank you guys for all the info. I'm thinking of taking it to the expo in Toronto. Do they do authentication there? I was not planning to go as funds are very tight hence why I'm selling the jersey but if that's what I have to do then I guess I'll go. Here are the photos.

I looked on ebay and it's exactly like this one that sold.

It's funny as I always thought it was weird that the fight strap was/is stitched onto part of the right nine rather then it being more centered and then I see this jersey on ebay that's stitched identical to mine.

I'm guessing it was through this service...

They don't appear to authenticate it - they give a quick opinion. There is no verification or authentication sticker involved... just a quick transaction of cash and opinion.

Interesting, I didn't know that was a service. It's still odd they said they said the signature wasn't authentic. Based on OP's images it's clearly a real Gretzky auto

I have/had a deal in place with a guy for $1200 without the Hologram and as is. But then I heard back from him two day later that he was getting the auto checked when he was already supposed to have sent me the money. He said ones he knows it's legit we have a deal. That was not the deal we agreed on. I feel like I should be renegotiating the deals since he has done so and after I have seen what a jersey exactly like mine has sold for. What do you all think?
