Best autographed hard signed set?

Althought it spanned a few years and several sets, I think Private Signings might be the best hard signed set ever

Aside from what everyone else has mentioned, there are a bunch of vet and retiree focused sets that are predominantly hard signed that I love.

06-07 Parkhurst
04-05 Legends Classics and Legendary Signatures
The three Epic Signatures sets. I wish UD would bring back one of the designs or at least the moniker for a new auto set; the Century Legends iteration is probably my favorite completed auto set in my collection.

I have to agree with 2004-05 Franchises (and I'd add in 2012-13 Classics as a good set to chase) but 2001-02 BAP Signature Series is my favourite.

99 Retro had one of the most complete checklists of All-time (including the Rocket and Boom Boom).

05/06 Trilogy Personal and Legendary Scripts was a great set as well. The custom script or nickname sets are some of the most unique.

I would rate a set on the photo variety and player list. 04-05 Legends Classics is great mix of both.

Hard to pick but the 04-05 ITG Franchises have both the different photos and a large variety of signatures.

My Pick

2012-13 Panini Classic Signatures

Photos and card stock are beautiful. Even the commons I can look at again and again. The autos are so clean and great list of Hofer's (minus Orr and Gretzky). The original set release was not completed so it also keeps the mind wondering which names they has originally wanted to include . Also the value for the common autos are steady and the short printed autos are very very high compared to their other releases

Just my take

Oooo, I forgot to list Classics Signatures in my post but that set is definitely up there for both the photography and the wide range of players available.

I miss those boxes being readily available for $75ish dollars...

As others have mentioned, the sets featuring HOFers and legends are my favourite. The autographs are just so aesthetically pleasing and unique -- you can immediately identify who the signer is -- unlike current players who look very similar with scribbles for the most part. Of course I get why is it this way (time, quantity, money etc) ...

^ Topps Archives (and Heritage) are a great choice.

Yet another few I forgot -

Fleer Greats of the Game. Just a gorgeous set.

2001-02 Parkhurst Autos. I think there may be a few repurposed Pre-Parkies in this set (Woody Dumart is one for sure) but a majority are directly hard signed. The green borders pop.

Might have to start a show and tell thread for us to share our favorite examples from all of these sets.

Some great sets listed here. I love a lot of the turn-of-the-millenium UD sets, like MVP Prosign, UD Foundations Signs of Greatness, the early editions of the Trilogy Scripts autos with 3 levels, UD Premier 01-02 to 03-04, 03-04 UD Ice Ice Authentics, ... The autos from the Habs centennial set were very cool too.

From a player quality perspective - It spans across products and years, but it is considered a single set - UD 500 Goal Club Autographs. I'd be interested to know if there is a single full set out there... even though all the cards are /25.

These are my favorites, not necessarily in order. It changes daily.
The Artifact honoured members are gorgeous, but pricey and tough to find.

I am glad to see someone else mentioned the 99/00 retro inkredible set. It is awesome!

The 03/04 ud ice under glass autos are pretty sweet too.

The 00/01 legends epic signatures have to be up there as well.

My favourite auto set of all time has to be the 2010-11 ITG Enshrined auto set. It would have been amazing to see Howe, Orr and Gretzky (darn those exclusivity contracts) in it but still one of the best Hockey Hall of Fame auto sets out there. It’s the only auto set I just had to complete.

If I recall there were a few that weren’t returned in time for pack out. Brian, if you read this...any truth to that?
