BEST Products of All Time

2003-04 SP Game Used will always be one of my all-time favorites. So many great Gretzky memorabilia cards in that product, Oilers patches especially. And I love the designs.

Also the 2000 Wayne Gretzky Master Collection

I'll go more modern but 2020-21 SP Signature Edition has be up there. It has the potential for another release with so many legends and so many options. The All-time Future watch was great. The autos in the set were clean. I would love to see Upper Deck do what Panini did with their Private Signings. Have a sub-set in that series where players sign in different jerseys - IE. Belfour on SJ, Lindros in TOR, Gilmour in MTL. Still so many options on the All-time Future watch list too. Someone at Upper Deck needs to get this going.

But could you imagine an set where Autos range from Orr on Boston and Chicago, Sundin on Toronto and Vancouver, Gretzky on NYR, LA, EDM and STL, Jagr on PIT, NYR, WSH etc. Just so many damn options!

01-02 Fleer Greats of the Game. I have loved this set from the start. Just gorgeous design and the autographs look amazing.

I loved 2013 Oilers collection (even though the SSPs eventually made me abandon most of the sets). Only product I ever broke more than a case of.

There's been some mention of 90s "junk wax" sets in here, and some of my favorite from that era would be 90-91 Pro Set, 90-91 UD, 92-93 UD, 94-95 Score..... but I still think one of the best looking sets (any era) ever would be 1993-94 Leaf.

I loved the later years of BTP, and any "niche" ITG set that came out. They were always the sets I looked the most forward to seeing a checklist from (I do have a "sort of master" set of 2011-12 BTP. All the autos & inserts, all of the "regular" Game Used cards, but not their gold parallels. Didn't do any of the /10 anniversary, or /5 GU & Auto sets).

The PC "In The Crease" set that came out was probably the best box I've opened in a decade or more. I'm looking forward to the Enforcers set that's coming soon.

Anything 2005-06 just gets the nostalgia train going.

I also loved 2009-10 O-Pee-Chee Premier. Very visually appealing.

2010-11 ITG Between The Pipes strikes a cord with me as well.

I'm going to give a shout out to 2003-04 Victory, the greatest Victory set ever. Old school cardboard, very colorful, and a great insert set in Freshman Flashbacks.

I liked Panni Prime and Nation Treasures when it was first released. It was a product that over delivered due to Panni losing it's NHL license.

These are some of my all-time favorite products that stand out, and I've opened one of pretty much everything from the 90s to now in my years in the hobby.

1) 2002-03 Between the Pipes. ITG took what was great about 2001-02's edition and added parallels, rookies, autograph hits, and thus, some more value to each break than the inaugural release had, which only had one hit per box (excluding the masks of course).

2) 1998-99 Bowman's Best. Stunning, high quality cards with refractors, atomic refractors, and autographs of legit stars (and some lesser names), this was a great break.

3) 2009-10 Between the Pipes. There has never been a more overloaded product produced in ITG's history. Averaging 2 autos and 2 game used a box, it was not uncommon to get boxes featuring 4 and 4 and the checklist was expansive and the memorabilia huuuge.

4) 2006-07 Parkhurst. A set focused on legends of the game and not the overused rookie class? Amazing. 4 autographs per box at an affordable price point at the time was mucho bueno.

5) 2014-15 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection. The only year of Upper Deck's Ultimate that I ever felt I got value out of while opening. The hits were exciting and diverse and again, used a nice mix of veterans and rookies. I feel all of the newer additions have been too top-heavy with the rookies, 80% of whom end up out of the NHL within 2-3 seasons on average.

6) 2008-09 Upper Deck Artifacts. The product that reset my interest in the hobby because of how loaded the boxes were and how nice the cards looked.

7) 2013-14 Fleer Showcase. So many hits per box, plus the beloved PMGs, and unlike 2014-15 which was overloaded with redemptions, this was more complete because cards were mostly live in it.

8) 2004-05 ITG Franchises (all of their variations). I am always behind a product celebrating the heritage of the game and boasting large game used and autograph checklists of not just big names, but lesser names from the past.

9) 2015-16 Leaf ITG Stickwork. Another loaded product with amazing designs. I made profit with every box break of it I ever did, which is unheard of in most box breaks.

Way too many honorable mentions to list.

I'm going to give a shout out to 2003-04 Victory, the greatest Victory set ever. Old school cardboard, very colorful, and a great insert set in Freshman Flashbacks.

Totally an unexpected shout out to victory in this post but LOVED them as a kid. The game breakers, FF, base, and parallels were all awesome looking despite the parallels being a nightmare to pull

Also someone mentioned in the crease already , id put that up there as well

2003-04 Be A Player Ultimate Memorabilia 4th Edition. Admittedly, the base autographs aren't the best design, but the game used cards and cuts have the best graphics and player line ups ever. Products from the early 2000's were epic. I imagine we'll never see stuff like that again.

For me 2004-05 ITG Franchises, so many great autographed cards that were presented in a beautiful way, plus tons of cool memorabilia.

My best,

Ken

1000% agree with Ken!

I liked the Pacific Crown Royale sets, but this (2004-05 Franchises) got me back into collecting and I still search for cards from this set. I also collect the other ITG sets

Broad Street Boys
Motown Madness
Lord Stanley Mug Autos.
