Best Villain ever?

Due to all this talk about Ledger and his role as The Joker, who in ya'lls opinion is the best villain ever?

Personally for me no one really tops the Darth Vader image for Star Wars

We talking movies, comics, books? Or anything?

Movies: I gotta go with Vader, too, though the prequels (mainly Epi 3) humanized him a little
Books: Patrick Bateman (though he's more an anti-hero than a villain)
Comics: I guess Joker, only because of the unpredictable, completely unexplained behavior that could turn on a dime; it should be someone like Galactus who would devour entire worlds, but I guess that gets boring after a few planets!
Reality: My Uncle Mitch--he's a mean guy.

C'mon, gotta have a little fun!
