I don't think you'll see it at $100... that's barely over store cost (as Scott details earlier). Expect it in the $110 to $120 range to give the stores a decent margin, plus tax. Now, some smaller shops may charge more as they order less than the bigger ones, and get less volume discounts; but I would be interested in a list of stores who are charging in excess of $130 before tax.

The only place you'll find it for $110 is in the states. Not here. Sure, there will the usual group of BS'ers on here who will say they bought it for $100 Canadian but I can tell you straight up - you will not find it for $110. If I sell it at zero profit, it still goes out the door at around $105 with taxes. At $110, I would make $5. Who invests $100 to make $5? I would have to sell 160 boxes to make rent. OMG, then those darn utilities people would want me to pay them...

I recognize some provinces have different tax levels but even in those zero retail sales tax areas (like eBay or Alberta), will the store owner be satisfied making $10 on a box? Not likely.

And you are right, the little guys will be paying more for product than some of us guys do. They will be higher again.

If you want to start a list, my price (based on my preorder quoted price) is going to be around $132 a box (includes taxes).

Bring the pitch fork.

I can't wait to see Frank's list of stores in Toronto who have it at $100. I can see Frank doing a lot of walking away.

Frank - Head over to Grosnor's and buy it directly from the distributor; it's the only place you'll find it for $100.

I mean at the shows this weekend, especially, Scott. Some people (not naming any names) go to these shows, sell their boxes and don't charge taxes at all... thus a $110 box could be feasible, if not bordering on tax evasion.

My point, and you confirmed it, is any boxes north of $130 PLUS tax would likely be out of line. You said you're charging $132 tax IN. Makes sense to me.
 
$132 seems a fair price as has been detailed. I think the list idea was geared more towards places that have it much higher and are obviously trying to take the customer for a ride.
 
Exactly... my hope is that vendors take this news and use is as a tool to sellout their wax immediately, rather than hope for an extra $5 or $10 per box. There's nothing worse than stale wax on store shelves.

I concede that I overlooked the fact that the cost to the distributor has increased this year and therefore $100 may be an exceptional price. But I was referring to $130 being excessive if tax were charged on top... I would not pay $150 per box. I'd be very happy to pay $132 tax in in Blenheim.

You're not taking into account what the guy might have kept for himself. As well, original odds for autos are 1/16 or 2 per 1.5 boxes (he got 4 autos in 2 boxes beat odds big time), 1 masked men per 18 packs (he got 2 in 2 boxes; met odds) and GU at 1 per /20 packs (he got 2; met odds). I'd take an extra auto for NOTHING any day of the week. So you're getting 4 hits per box instead of 3, and it didn't cost you an extra cent. What's the question again???
 
I am assuming you guys are talking canadian $$ here. just did a quick check on the currency excahnge and that seems high to me. I don't know this guy, and it is not my auction, but I just bought a box of the stuff from this seller on ebay. He has 5 boxes left at a tremendous price compared to what is being said.

$80 + $9 = $89US x 1.24 exchange rate = ~$110 CDN. But... you have to wait a week to ten days AND this guy is stating nothing about the sales tax that should be applicable. I'd rather pay the $130 at a local store, have the box in hand and support the local money pit myself. Alas, my local money pit is nothing like the good shops on here :(

After opening up several cases of ITG products over the past 6 years, a few boxes out of each case have multiple GU/Autographs. There is at least 1 box in every case that has 2 GU and 2 Autos. As far as him keeping things for himself he posted in another auction that he is selling a full set and 46 points, that would hardly suggest that he kept anything for himself. Maybe I will be completely wrong when I open my case and I will get more than the 15 GU and 18 AU that I would normally pull. I will post the results tomorrow.
 
Judging by these pictures, I am guessing the wording "Game Used Jersey" is foil on the cards. The Potvin is listed as a gold jersey /10 and the Tokarski is listed as a regular silver jersey. The cards look identical, so I am guessing that would be it?

Also any word on what the inserts in this set are numbered to? I am going to guess the Super Sized Glove cards are /9. Are the supersized pads /1 or /9 or what?

I am very excited about this set, can't wait to start picking up the Turco, Pickard and Luongo cards.

Just for the record, the price to distributors for Between The Pipes has not changed for the past three years.

Anyone telling you otherwise is not telling you the truth.

What has changed over the past three years is the US/Canadian exchange rate.

We have no control over that.

I have a box set aside for me at my local hobby shop for $130 Canadian, taxes in. Bruce
P.S. My favourite pull for my PC came out of 2006-07 BTP, in fact: Gerry Cheevers Complete Package Gold (1 of 1).

I just opened my first box. 2 autos, 2 masks, gu Jersey and a gu number.

My only problem, is that the numbers on the back are very difficult to read. I make sets from my boxes and this is going to be a pain in the butt.
 
I cracked a box this morning and got two AUs, a mask, GU glove and a triple Roy/Price/Halak.

You are also not figuring in the possible customs. He's shipping from New York.
