So we just had our big semi-annual card show here in Vancouver. In years past, I've walked in with almost as much money as I walked out with. Last time, I actually walked out with more money than I walked in with. Nice to say that this time, I actually spent most of what I walked in with because there was stuff all over the place that I wanted.

First things first...few people have asked me why I took down the Dhalsim sig picture because it provided some good laughs. Well, to commemorate the release of the 3DS, here is the return of soccer Dhalsim again. Yoga dive!

So into the hockey pickups now. Saw this about 10 minutes after the show opened on Saturday and grabbed it. Dude didn't quite live up to his hype at the beginning, but he'll round out.

2009-10 SP Game Used Victor Hedman RC /99 (Available)

I think I know a certain Cam Janssen fan in St. Louis this one's going to...

2010-11 Donruss Die Cut Auto Cam Janssen /25 (NFT)

Hopp Schwiiz!

2010-11 Heroes and Prospects National Pride Nino Neiderreiter Gold /10 (Unsure whether I'm keeping this or not)

A couple voices of the Game autos. Can't say no to Denis Potvin, and of course...Randy "HE SHOOTS HE SCORES!! I FEEL LIKE CHICKEN TONIGHT CHICKEN TONIGHT CHICKEN TONIGHT!!" Moller. Randy's lost a lot up top in the last 20 years, and unfortunately no longer has the white man jheri curl he rocked in the late 80s. At least he grew out of the "See you at the 4th row of the RATT concert" mustache. Both are available.

...and I think there are probably a couple of Kovy fans that might want this guy since there hasn't been one to surface on eBay yet that I could find

2010-11 Crown Royale Ilya Kovalchuk Ice Blue 08/10 (Available)

I picked up a lot of MMA autos over the weekend, the first of which is here. I present you with Tank Abbott's former nemesis Pete Becker...also known as...

2010 Iron Man 2 auto Jon Favreau (NFT for now)

Speaking of Iron Man 2...not a big sketch card fan, but I thought this was cool, so I grabbed it as part of a lot purchase. It's available

So let's jump totally into stuff outside of hockey now, and jump into some non-sport. I picked up a lot of non-hockey stuff this weekend, and amongst it were these two beauties. While I won't be able to ever afford Indiana Jones himself from this set, I can afford his wife and kid...so here are autos of Karen Allen and Shia LeBeouf from the same set.

...and my personal favorite...a Short Print of Short Round! OKIE DOKEE DOCTA JONES

UD World of Sport was a pretty badass release, but I don't quite understand why they did the Athletes of the World subset without pictures, because there were some really cool autos in a whole and the set would've been done more justice. Here's 2 of Strikeforce's finest..."Ruthless" Robbie Lawler and Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante (both NFT)

5580881753_38c815b1ac.jpg

...and the man who gave birth to big air...Mat Hoffman (NFT)

Onto some more combat sports. First...a piece of the Pazman. Vinny Pazienza's trunks. This is Gold /10
5580883173_94e5759792.jpg

A couple of boxing legends...the man who knocked out Mike Tyson...and the man who was knocked out by Mike Tyson.

Now into the rest of the MMA stuff. I've always wanted one of these Cage Relic cards because I thought they were cool, but I never found a fighter I really wanted. Being a big Shane Carwin fan (and not knowing he was in the cage relic set,) this one was a no brainer when I saw it.
5581471086_a1c592e702.jpg

and well...I've never really been a jersey/shirt/relic type of person, so I went a bit crazy with the autos. Up first are a couple Leaf autos - Clay Guida and Brittany Palmer, and some Round 3 autos - Patrick Cote (of whom I may be the only remaining fan) and um...I'll just call him the Polish Experiment since I don't wanna try typing his name out. Guida is spoken for, Palmer NFT and the other 2 are available since I picked up a more suitable Cote.

One more Leaf auto. This one...of the Natural...
or Captain America, or whatever you wanna call him

5580883607_1f84164fb9.jpg

Lastly...I picked up a crapload of UFC Knockout. I kind of want to do a set, but I couldn't decide whether I wanted to pick up the /188 auto set...or the /88 auto set...or the /188 shirt autos...or the /88 shirt autos, so um...well...this happened:

5580887331_121d3bb6a5_z.jpg

5580886227_ac54e439df_z.jpg

2x THE KING OF THE STREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETS, and sadly one of that punk ***** Nate Diaz.

5580884263_16c034c388_z.jpg

...and ending tonight's MMA show, we've got a Prince...a grinder...a former member of WCW's 3 Count, a wee wee drinkin world champion...
5581475522_b884772793_z.jpg

...America's Captain, a Croatian Sensation, Vin Diesel in 10 years and an Answer.
5580888773_7479ffd383_z.jpg

Lastly...another hockey card, but this one of my favorites ever. A long long time ago, I used to have the ITG Scrapbook auto of Cam Neely in a Canucks uni. It was a pretty unique piece of my random keepers until my pal Dennis (Strike) had trouble finding one for his set, so off it went to him. Fast forward a few years and the big boss himself Bruce whips this beauty out of his box and I knew I'd had to have it...especially since Neely autographed it with his Canucks number. So after a hard round of negotiating, consisting of me throwing a number at Bruce and him accepting...this came home with me. A nice 2009-10 SP Authentic Rookie Review Patch/Auto of Cam Neely (NFT)

That's the show. Holla at your Caporegime if you got Knockout autos.

Very nice show Matt, too bad you have no GSP in all that MMA stuff...actually kinda dig the Neely, even as a Habs fan.

Matt, the Neely is a beauty. Love all of the UFC pickups, and you're not the only Cote fan left, he's fighting in the third licensed Ontario MMA card tomorrow against "The Running Man" Kalib Starnes. I hope to be able to bust a little Cote, Cote, Cote! cheer later in the evening.

Mea Culpa for the after-the-fact bump but I forgot I'd posted this until now...

that Short Round is freaking EPIC! i gotta go find one now.

Kevin...the odds of pulling one were something like 1 in 700 packs. They're out there somewhere, but I know they weren't all that cheap upon release. I got a decent deal on this one because the dude I bought it from pulled a Harrison Ford out of his case, so he said he didn't care what he sold the rest for.

Had to get it if only to commemorate the best line in Temple of Doom...OKEE DOKEE DOCTA JONES...HOLD ONNAYO POTATOES

...that and we used to call a guy I used to work with Short Round...

Hopefully you enjoyed the result of Saturday's card. Cote continues his "I'm too good out of the UFC, but not so good in the UFC" streak. I think he's something like 10-0 outside the UFC now, and 4-7 in it.

Not my smartest idea, but I'm holding off on GSPs in that set until I've picked up everybody but the big guns like Silva and him

Typical Scotsman. Ya give him a gift, and he sells it....

Hella nice show, Matt. Even if you DID pay money for a Beef auto.

Typical Scotsman. Ya give him a gift, and he sells it....

I guess I didn't tell the whole story Steve. He tried gifting it to me over the course of the day after I told him I was interested in it (having said you gave it to him) and I felt odd accepting the card for nothing, so what I did flip him in exchange, it was either going to Hockey for Life or back to the site...it wasn't a "Bruce's wallet beautification fund" sort of thing :D
