Seeing as you prompted me, I'd be happy to share.
I sent him a list of cards from a thread he had made asking what he was looking for on each and as a total. He replied, and I sent a revised list back to him with an offer. It went back and forth a couple times, and we agreed on a price. As the seller, I asked him to do up a sale thread. To which he responded, and I quote: "Sorry but I do not know how to open a thread Can you please open it I will accept it." (verbatim from his pm's.) So I posted the thread, and sent him the Paypal. He then cam back saying the card had been sold on eBay, it was a mix up but he didn't want to have kilga (who sold the card on eBay) to have to get a negative. He said he would rather sell the card to me. I told him I can understand the situation, but the story he was telling me he needed to tell the eBay buyer as I paid first. He supposedly attempted to contact the winner to no avail. I also should mention he never responded to the thread as he said he would, in my opinion to cover his butt because there was nothing really binding the deal, other than the fact he had my cash. I should also note the price he got on eBay was more than I had paid for it. I still wanted the other cards, so we began hashing out how to make up the difference. To save another thousand words or so, he was of the opinion that I was asking for way to much in compensation, I was of the opinion that he was offering way to little. By this point, I'll admit I was less than friendly to deal with (I wonder if anyone else can see why.) We both agreed to send it off to Bruce and Quincy to get their take before we took any other action regarding the deal. This turned our to be another lie as he jumped the gun before Steve could really look at it and refunded my money. So, there was nothing I could really do as he didn't respond to the thread as he said he would, so there wasn't a binding deal. I had the money back, but was in no way happy with the situation. Had Bruce and Steve decided the thread should be legit he would not have the perfect feedback record he likes to wave about.
