Binders or Boxes?

Ok debating on what to do with some of my cards .......I know the higher end will stay in one touches in a box but what do you do with your base and low end cards of your fav player or team .....


Put them in pages in a binder


OR


Put them in a box also????

I keep all my stuff in one big box. I like having everything in one place.

I am actually in the process of removing cards from Binders and putting them in boxes. Binders are nice but when you get 20 plus 3 inch binders storage becomes an issue. I do plan to leave a few binders with some player collection base though.

It all comes down to how much space vs cards you have.

I keep everything in boxes. Anything in my PC is in one touches or toploaders(even if they are base) and I keep them in two 3000 count boxes. All my other non-PC base is kept in 3000 ct boxes just loose.

I like looking at my cards--I put them in binders when feesible..and when I have time but most of my early player collections are in binders/pages.

I'm a set builder, I like to have the sets in Binders so I can take them off the shelf and look through them. Takes a bit more room but to me it's more enjoyable.

I give all my base and inserts (non-autos and game-used) to the sick kids at the Ronald McDonald House. They love getting them and I love seeing their faces light up with a smile... even if it is for a short moment in their already tough lives.

Most of my PCs are in boxes. I have binders for my Leafs base/inserts/rcs , but thats pretty much it .

Highend stuff = one touch magnetic
Mid range cards = soft sleeve + toploader
Low end inserts = plastic case (various sizes)

Stored by set in monster box (by year)

Sets = labelled cardboard boxes

Binders for me but for my high end I keep them safe in boxes but scan & print copies to put in the binders just so I can flip through & see what I've got without digging too deep into boxes

With a big PC (such as my Datsyuk), I keep bases + inserts + normal game used in binders, per year. For the higher end game used, patches and autos I store them in magnetic touches or top loaders in a box.

Binders until I complete a set. (All rookies go in toploaders, though.) Once I've found something else to move on to, I'll usually transition them to boxes and rebuild the binder with the new project.

The local Wal-Mart has started selling this little 500-card boxes and I've found those handy. A little pricey at $5 a pop, but they have a nice width and I love the way they look on the shelf.

I used to keep my cards in binders. You can't really enjoy them when they are hiding in boxes.

Depends. I keep everything in boxes, but then again I only have a couple of hundred cards. 500 at most.

If you do boxes, have a cataloging system...this would be best for commons from sets and various players. Binders are great for viewing the cards that you have. This might be easiest if you have insert sets that you are trying to collect or cards that you want to use as trade bait that are low $.

I have a mix bag with most of my earlier player collections in binders, and most of my inserts in binders. My commons are in boxes. Most of my "higher end RC's, cards, inserts" are in hard or soft sleeves . Now, most of the cards that I have are in boxes, ones designated for jerseys, autos, inserts, and rc's. All "higher end or better than average" cards in soft or hard sleeves, including top RC's. All others, including cards for my player collections are treated like commons and placed in the boxes, sometimes in order, most times not.

I'd say, determine your collection, what you collect, how much you have invested into it personally and how you want to present your collection. Practicallity is your best friend...like gwheath said
