Bit of mail, and a silly stamped stamp situation?

Thought I'd throw some alliteration up there. It's so hard to be creative anymore.

The main chunk of mail comes from my man, Bryan (bryanstarock) who was super kind enough to throw in the Potvin, Hale and Stajan, when he only had to make up $5 in BV. What a guy. He rules. Fleury has been offered to a few people but nothing set in stone yet so it is FT/FS...as are all the others, excluding Mr. Thornton. I like this one.

The Hull came at a cheap price and is for sale. The Jagr Ice Gold came from Neal (nealp) - not sure if he is on this site but he is a great trader - at last weeks Trader's Night. I had exams that week and this one so I couldn't do anything online until a couple days ago.

I got the top five cards from eBay in a terribly titled lot with a decent BIN ($10). I used it for the Tellqvist, and the others came with it so they are all FT as well. I would prefer to sell the Tellqvist however.

I also received lots of inserts/base that I needed for various sets. Only thing FT is the BAP Bouwmeester RC, but it is a cheapy.

I'm hoping to go to the Old Timers game on Monday, and it would be nice to meet Dougy and get some cards signed. I've been before and met all the guys who are regulars, but he has never been here before (not that I am aware of anyway), so it'd be neat to see a new face. Perhaps some new on-ice antics as well. The pie-in-the-face, penatly-shot-with-ministicks, rocket-on-skates routine gets old after so many years...and I'm still a kid! Haha.

Nothin' spectacular, but I thought I'd share regardless.

As a side note, does anyone else have this "problem"? When I receive a package from within Canada, if stamps are used, they almost never come stamped over. So they are perfectly re-usable. Just this week, on three pacakges I received $3 worth of stamps, and a letter from ITG with one $0.50 unstamped stamp, that I promptly re-used on packages that I sent out Wednesday and Thursday. And that's only this week. It happens to me on a regular basis.

The downside with this is that I cannot confirm when something was sent out. In the case of the Hull above, I am sure that it was sent out late (late as in a week), but I have no way to prove that, so I cannot call them out on it. Even the few packages from the States that I receive with stamps are often left untouched...I just don't get it. I don't have a problem with re-using stamps because they keep raising the price, and I think it is their fault for not cancelling them - I just benefit from it.

Is this a unique situation I am in? Does it happen on a consistent basis to others or do the mail people just like me? Should I stop whining and keep my mouth shut about it or what?

Anyway, I'm done talking. Jordan.

Nice mailday and about the stamps I do the same thing (reuse) and dont really care that I cant tell when it was sent. If you do know when it was sent all you can do is complain anyways

Jordan,
Very nice haul! I like that Stajan. :D The Tellqvist is really nice too.

As for stamps, they are never stamped when they come to me. I don't mind though, extra stamps for me. :) So, it's not just you.

Wes

I get a lot of uncancelled stamps too
maybe if they were more dilligent with that they wouldn't have to raise the rates every year.

Bart - Excellent point...but I do like to complain :p.

Wes - I posted in your thread about it, didja' miss it? You can have it at the next show? That way I get to keep my stamps! Haha.

Phil - Maybe that's their master plan though. Keep letting stamps go through, to make us think...I can't hypothesize like that.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one who gets stamps uncancelled. I wonder how many times some of them have been used...

Oh yeah...you did mention that! :o My bad. Thanks a lot! :)

Wes

Bryan sent it to me when he didn't have to, so I will gladly turn it around to someone who is more in need of it. :D

Cool, that'd be awesome. How'd your exams go, btw?

Wes

Too long, but in the end, I really don't know. Physics problems killed everyone, but Discrete wasn't as bad. English was just a few questions, so I hope to come out not too badly scathed. :p
