Just read on the ESPN rumors that the Flyers may be trying to clean Gagne off the books (which he already agreed to waive his no trade clause), to sign Bobby Ryan!


The Signing would put philly tight against the cap but sources say that it can be done!

What does that have to do with Bobby Ryan going anywhere? That they'd trade him for D? They've got plenty of D in their system in Mitera, Gardiner, Sbisa, and Fowler (all first round picks). Makes no sense to trade a RFA like Ryan to get a top pairing D man, when you've got cheap, potentially top notch talent on the way up.

I agree that the Ducks will likely match any offer not ridiculous in nature, but it would be a nice upgrade in youth and talent if Philly could pull it off. They would have three damn good lines who can contribute offense and a pretty darn good defense. Unfortunately they would have to pray Leighton plays his best at all times.

Ryan is one of my favorites in the game today. He has been a heralded sleeper on all of my teams in the past couple years as well.

I hope he stays in Anaheim, because he wont be on philly, and because he looks better in green and gold....

Philly is home for Bobby Ryan, I've heard this rumor as well... but im not 100% sold on its merit.

And the way the Philly D is shaping up, i don't think goal tending will be an issue. The trend clearly shows high price goalies are on the out
