Boggs and Sandberg join Hall

Boggs racked up at least 200 hits in seven consecutive seasons, hit .349 or better six times and reached base safely in an amazing 80 percent of the games he played in during an 18-year career. At the age of 36, Boggs won his first Gold Glove.


Sandberg, the 1984 NL MVP, was the first player in history to have a 40-homer season and a 50-stolen base season in his career, and only the 10th in history to hit 250 home runs and get 250 stolen bases.

Wade Boggs was my high school baseball coach. Was supposed to go to the induction, but I forgot to buy plane tickets DOH! Regardless it's an exciting moment for such a prolific baseball player.
