Boston/ Toronto rumours/ talks are back...

He told Burke that he would be willing to go to the Bruins. They get first chance and after last year it is obvious that they want him.

I still get a little peeved everytime I think about how we could have had Jeff Carter in our lineup right now if he would have waved it.

with the prospects in this draft unless your team is expected to have a long run in playoffs usually teams wouldnt give a from a team thats low in the standings... which is y dont think boston would give up torontos draft wtth a chance of getting either couturier, nugent hopkins, larson, landeskog etc... with the way that the leafs are playing right now i really would dought boston would give up that draft:) i mean kaberle is a good player but i think boston is looking more rookies....

The DP would be more of a reward for taking Ryders contract off their cap for the remainder of this and all next season. Thats over 4million reason to trade the pick plus they still get Kaberle and a DP back.

Boston is NOT looking for more rookies, they just drafted Seguin 2nd overall and are having some trouble intergrating him in the lineup. They also have Hamill and Colborne as 'big' prospects.

Boston is looking to make a Cup run this year. They are looking for a defenceman to help them run their powerplay. They are using Recchi back there for cyring out loud!

They likely won't be giving up the Leafs' 1st rounder, but they are certainly looking for a D-man THIS year not more rookies.

Ryder is an unrestricted free agent THIS summer. Come trade deadline, he would only have about $1M left on his contract.

I don't think he's really a hindrance in any way for Boston.

latest rumor is wheeler and a pick for kaberle. apparently it's close to done. anyonek now wheeler's contract status?

I'm a huge Habs fan but I honnestly feel that the Bruins have the chance to go for it this year as well as the Flyers they have good players and depth something my Habs don't have. These are the top teams in the East I feel they both have a legitimate chance to hoist the Cup this year.

I like that deal for the leafs. Seems pretty good depending on the pick they get with wheeler.

wheeler showed a lot of promise in his rookie year and if memory serves me correctly he almost got 30 goals which isn't too shabby. kaberle is as good as gone so if the leaf's just get wheeler for kaberle i wouldn't be totally devastated since Burke could do a lot worse..

Well according to the Dreger report over at tsn.ca it looks like we're close to Kaberle for Joe Colbourne (big center) and our 1st round pick back that we gave for Kessel.

The report I heard is that it's not the Kessel pick, but Boston's pick.

I'm trying to figure out if this trade does happen, how it fits under Boston's cap.

It looks like they'll have to clear out another 2M to make it work.

Kev

Lets get this done! Im extremely happy the my B's are finally going for it! We need to win this year, and with Spooner tearing it up in the O this trade is really a no brainer. Kabs wants to be in Boston (or so the reports say), he wants to win and he has more assists than any of our FORWARDS. Bruins are supposedly looking to trade Mark Stuart to Chicago to free up cap room. Him, Wheeler, and Boychuk are in play.

How the fark does Chicago have cap room to add anyone? They are as tight against the cap as anyone as well. Boychuk would make slight more sense based on $$$, as he would probably get them free and clear with out anymore moves where the 200K diff between Boychuk and Stuart might not.

Either way, this is going to be interesting to see how it shakes out.
