Hello all,
My buddy (an internet friend) from down South who collects solely baseball had someone give him 5 cases of 00-01 UD Ice. They were cleaning out their recently departed father's house and found them. He would like to know what they are worth as he would like to move them. I could not find any completed listings. I know they are not worth a ton, but any help on value would be appreciated. I am sure they would be a fun rip and wouldn't set you back a lot. Thank you for your insight!

Your best bet may be to contact some of the bigger case distributors (Dave and Adams, Blowout) and ask their opinions. Other than that I have no idea, but I would also be interested in a case.

Fair enough... I guess the question is how much would YOU pay for a case? $100, $500, $1000?

HOLY CRA%!!!

I have been working on the master set since 2000 and I am 4 short - see my sig below.

I have seen the box on ebay and have been watching it for some time - the seller is just sitting on that price. In my opinion, and I am speaking from my pocket book, the price is too high. Yes, if your fella offers up the boxes for $50 a piece I would be willing to grab more than a few.

As for ICE ccollectors, please contact me, as I have several Immortals cards, many of the base and base rookies #/1500 and several misc of #/500 and a few #/150.

Geezus! This is like my wet dream come true. And to think I was just about to call it quits on this set.

Awesome find. $50-$60 sounds about right. I don't think there were any huge redemptions cards in there. Maybe I am wrong, but I think Scott Gomaz was the only one. I am sure the Ice collectors would be willing to correct me if I am wrong.

The only big rookie in that set is Heatley.

Hard to say...I would believe that while the demand is there to bust it (as you can see by this thread,) the retail sale prices wouldn't necessarily spike because of it.

I don't remember the boxes yielding a whole lot (I busted a box a few years ago, and I can't remember what the major hit guarantee was...one numbered rookie and one Stars parallel per box?) and I don't remember the rookie crop being all that dazzling outside of Heatley and a couple others.

$55-60 a box might be the highest possible return you can get, but you might be sitting on boxes for that price waiting for buyers. That being said, I think you would have people lining up all day at $45-50 a box, which is more than fair IMO.

If it's a 12 box case (I don't remember how the cases looked on these,) I would expect it would go in the $450-550 range at auction.

Correct - no redemptions that I came across and I opened many boxes.

As for the big guns - Heater himself and Gabby. And that isn't looking too good at this point for either. For me, it is the goal to complete the set. :curse:

With any luck RC Jeff Ulmer will marry Adele and they will find a cure for Cancer - then his rookie card will be worth much more for sure.

I believe the Cujo was a redemption.

Anyways I believe unless if any of the above guys are willing to buy from you by the case, you'll sell half the boxes at $50.

If you're going to try to sell this stuff, this is the year!

One man's junk is another man's treasure!

The Cujo auto was not a redemption for me - I pulled two out of packs.

Interesting...mine had a big hole punched through it...I dug it out one time as I was considering offering it to Connie the Cujo collector for free for laughs. Maybe there was a mix of some autos some reds, or maybe I misremember and it's the previous years' auto...

Cujo was a redemption, I have this used redemption card in my collection:

Here is the signed version:

Maybe there were live versions in packs too?

Here is the 01/02 Cujo Ice Auto, these were live and I have never seen a redemption for these:

Show off! ;).

Hey is that the one I sent you or is it your own? It was so long ago, 2006/7 I don't remember what I did with the redemption card...

There must have been live versions and redemptions then, as I definitely pulled my two copies straight from packs. Very interesting!

I also keep a spreadsheet for my collection (since 1997) and I always add a comment on the redemptions - no comment on these cards in my sheet. Of course, I could have forgotten to make the entry, but...

Anyway - love this stuff!
