Typically I purchase a few boxes when my wife and daughter go out of town (I can never get the time off work it seems)... this time it just happened to coincide with Boxing Day -- sounds like a new tradition to me! Here's the spoils:
A rather large box arrived about a week before Christmas:
Inside that box were a bunch of other boxes:
And inside those boxes were a bunch of cards!
First up, the two UD S1 blasters:
Then, I always told myself if I found another website selling boxes of Mask Collection, BAP Memorabilia and Heads Up that I would snag a box of each for the "box toppers"
Definitely would have preferred a Leafs bobblehead that I would have kept.
*Note: The two GU were Joseph/Roberts/Mogilny/Tucker and Khabibulin/Richards/Bure/Luongo
Again, would've preferred a Leafs cup... but we all know how rare those are!
Got to love expired redemptions!
Happy with the mask hit - not sure if I'll keep it or move it yet. Book value of $120 which strangely books higher than the autographed version at $80
Happy with the triple GU instead of another single, plain looking card. Then on to the "better" stuff:
Contenders is a really fun break. Good bang for the buck and I'll certainly be opening more of this product. Originally picked it up hoping to hit some Leather Larceny cards as I'm collecting those so it was nice to hit two that I needed - too bad they weren't autos. Also really liked the Against the Glass insert and may collect those as well.
Then, Limited..
Not a bad break at all here... especially the Parise which is a 1/1. Grabbed this box for the Board Members inserts and again was lucky enough to hit one I needed, even though it's not the die-cut.
Last up was the box of Canadiana. I didn't know much about this product but it seemed like a fun break for something "different"...
Happy with the Espo hit.. but a Rich Little auto AND shirt was a bit much. I won't be buying that stuff again, but at least I can say I opened a box.
