Break a case of Enforcers or sell it? If break, where to do it streaming live?

So we have a full case of ITG Enforcers sitting here, and the question is what makes more business sense:

1) Sell the case at our cost and get the money back for something else.
2) Sell the boxes at a few dollars above cost and get the money back for something else.
3) Gamble, break the whole case and sell off the cards to try and break oeven or do a little better.

If we sell the case, it'd be about $800 plus taxes and shipping. If we sell the boxes, they'd be $62 or so each plus taxes and shipping.

If we break the case, we'd have 70 autos, 70 "base" and hope one of our 28 GU is a big pop.

If you've broken a case or more, how'd it work out for you? If we do break the case, where would be a good place to set up an account and make an event out of it with giveaways, etc. Blog TV? Others?

What'd the case cost, $700? You obviously don't have to answer that.

Autos are going for $5-$10. So say $8 on average you could net. That's $560.

If GU went for the same, you're looking at another $200 plus.

Even the base are netting a buck or two. So that's another $100 pus.

So that's $860 right there... not taking into account any nice multi-color jerseys or bigger hits (e.g. name plate, SP autos, etc.).

Someone can break my balls on these estimates. But they're just that... estimates. And I've been buying all of my Enfocers from the Bay. So I think I have a decent gauge.

I voted to bust it, Enforcers was a very fun break overall and I don't break wax soooo...I did a 14 box awhile ago and here is the breakdown. I had 18 doubles and 1 triple out of 70 auto's No SP's unfortunately, only 5 base card doubles, no GU doubles. I hit a 1 Nameplate, 1 Red Instigator /10, 1 Red Combatants dual /10, 1 fight strap /8, and 1 Quad /40, good luck with whatever your decision is :beer:

Case cost was pretty close to $800, just looking to get out even. Remember if I break it I have to figure losing at a minimum PayPal costs and in some cases eBay, so 5-20% could go out the window.

Thanks for the update on the case break, golgo -- that's pretty heartening.

Thoughts on where to broadcast it?

every pack we had in our case out-did the selling price. Hit a patch or fight-strap 1/1 and you can double or triple pack price.

Wayne if you bust it, do it on blog tv. Fastest way to do it.
In my opinion, i'd bust it, the sales on this stuff should go up once inventory dries up.

From a business sense point of view then the answer is clear cut. Either sell the case as a whole or sell them as boxes this way you're guarunteed to make a few bucks.

Busting wax we all know is a gamble and a gamble is not sound business.

If your doing the set...crack it.....

If your planning on selling the cards....sell the case sealed.....the autos and jersey, for the most part...command next to nothing on the secondary market. Use the $$$ to bust something else with more packs.

Guys, it appears we are going to break this case! Waiting to hear if we can get the good Doctor involved somehow and set it up as a live event somewhere so we can do a little bit of giveaway/contest or something.

Seeing as this is our first, any suggestions on what I should? I'm going to post a thread a day or two before we break asking people for wants/needs and the cards will be posted here for a couple days before they are flogged on feeBay.

Anything else?
