well after a summer off of Hockey cards i'm slowly getting back into the groove.although this years products and rookie class do not impress me much at this point,i still manage to drop cash at the local pit.my first product of '09 i broke was a box of Black,i was under the impression that these cards were all acetate,i was wrong.needless to say this break gave me the blues,figuratively and literally:
that hurt a bit.perhaps if the patch card had a bit more color it wouldn't have stung as much,.....perhaps.
1 blaster box of Ultra from a wal mart and this was the highlight:
not bad,with this rookie class i was more than happy to see a name i recognize.
today i recieved a check for some side work i have been doing on sundays for the past 2 months.so i traeted myself to a box of artifacts.i was leary going in and as it turned out you should always trust your instinct.
so i will be laying off of '09 product for awhile after that one.:|
i had to rebound from that break so i grabbed a left over '08 tin of sweet shot.pulled this rookie;
and then this one for the pc:
the third card is in the top three below.
onto the mail.i had an outstanding corey perry ice scripts that was about 6 months old so i asked for a replacement via email.i'm not the kind of guy who asks for Orr or Gretzky for a $10 card so i asked for the same caliber player in a Ranger's uniform.they sent this:
at least they were halfway there.love Leetchie,but it hurts like hell seeing him in black and gold:|
found two older redemption cards mixed in with stuff on my desk.if you have kids you know how this kind of stuff happens.one was for an artifacts wild card:
the other was for a pack of MVP rc's.got stralman,cogliano and:
not too shabby for things i didn't know i had.
now for the three nice thingies.from a single pack purchase of Artifacts seconds before that brutal break.this obviously enticed me into the gamble;
i have a fledgling Backstrom collection,last year i always seemed to pull his stuff,this year is off to a fast start too'
the third card from that Sweet Shot break would make a certain mod/owner
happy:
strange,the last tin i opened had the Hextall stick signings,another mods player.
and finally a redemption from OPC Premier that came in awhile ago,just didn't have time to show it off;
nice color selection on the jersey's as well as the patch.hope you enjoyed the show and tell!
