Now *that* was old school. Watching that promo last night was excellent - it was really a fitting interview given that it's possibly the last time he'll be on Raw and it was a great lead-in to the 'Mania match. They really let him go out on a high, recapping the great moments of WrestleManias past, and the many salutes to his fans was a great touch. A key theme in all of this has been the redemption of the Hitman character and him getting the proper farewell to the WWE that he was deprived of 12 years ago - the acknowledgement of the past also gets you thinking about all the great WrestleMania moments Bret never got to have - and they're doing a fantastic job of bringing about closure and re-writing the final chapter of Bret's story.

Also should note that the WWE did themselves a great thing by bringing Brett on there tour of Europe and the middle East. Brett is still so popular over there.

The match will "stink", if you are going to be concerned about a wrestling match......it's just going to be Bret beating the crap out of Vince and a couple run-ins by (probably) Batista and Cena, maybe some surprises as well.

It's a great way for him to say goodbye and I, for one, can't wait, and I don't care if there is a single wrestling hold in the entire match (although I do hope it ends in a sharpshooter).

Exactly - Bret himself has said that he's not even going to be wearing the pink & black tights, and that it's just going to be a fight. I'd love to see the Five Moves of Doom one last time, though. And yes it MUST end with the Sharpshooter. That little tease they did before the Batista run-in got a monster pop.

I agree its really great to see them closing things out with him this way, I just pray to god they dont do something crazy like screw up the wrestlemania thing by letting vince once again screw him over somehow you know what I mean. Seems highly unlikely they would do this but you never know.

On another note i hope they dont let the undertakers streak die either :P

i say let bret beat the tar out of vince and then bring out AUSTIN 3:16 so he can kick a hole in vinc's @@@ and walk it dry.

Trust me, I know Bret's condition and know he won't be putting on a clinic. But I'd hate to see him not even be able to pull off whatever basic moves they plan to use.

Wow, total destruction of Vince. Don't think he even got a move in did he? That was a lot of chairshots too!

Oh yeah, I got me an order this morning too for the hoodie, so I can't wait to get that and the free auto!

Just finished watching, the Bret thing got boring after a few minutes. Taker/HBK saved what was a really disapointing Mania. Money in the bank has gone stale esp when you have guys in there who are out of there element. Glad HBK got to go out like that he deserves the same thing Flair got a few years ago tonight.
