Brodeur a Free Agent as of July 1st

Brodeur is NOT a starting caliber goaltender anymore. Best he could be is a backup with experience to mentor a young starter. Any team who signs him as a #1 is in big trouble if you ask me

I would agree - but he can still give you 25 games or so of solid goaltending and (potentially) be a good mentor to a young guy that is not ready to take the reigns just yet. Teach a couple kids how to be a professional goaltender - if he chooses to be.

I just really question if he has that in him - to be a mentor. Not saying he's a bad guy but he's clearly ridiculously competitive and wants to continue to play. I see him cut from that Brett Favre mold where he wants to go out and keep playing until he just physically can't anymore.

I still see Minnesota as a good spot. They are trying to trade backstrom and keep saying good things about his health. Then there's harding. Don't know if he can play 1 game or all 82. Kemp is still young and would benefit from the wild signing Marty IMO

I'd say that Brodeur is not going anywhere. He still wants to be a #1 goalie somewhere. He's going to find out that no team will be willing to pay him #1 goalie money plus he no longer has the capability to be a #1 goalie. This past year also showed that he is not capable at being supportive to the other goalie on his team. It's time for him to retire and to watch his sons as they progress through the hockey ranks.

Oh, thats news to me. He wants to play as much as coach gives him and that's not being supportive?
