I recently picked up a 02-03 BAP All-Star Jersey Silver and the patch is bulging out of the window (which I'm led to believe could be part of the hem?!). Not complaining - it's an awesome 3 colour card!!

I want to store it in a magentic one-touch but my question is, will the card suffer any damage long-term if it was placed in a case suitable to fit just the size of the card? Pressure on the patch?

I've heard horror stories (Screw-downs I think it was?!) where some have done the above, and upon opening, it had taken away some of the card after time.

Any advice would be great.

Thank you.

I have a bulging Ted Lindsay jersey seam card from Superlative. The card itself is very thin, but I have it in a 130 pt one-touch. I'd package it to the thickest card of the card. Once its in a case, its not going anywhere.

Believe it or not I've forced a few foil cards into holders and then upon taking them out it damaged the card surface. Just get a thick enough magnetic so that it can close properly.

I have several ITG cards like this. I try to make sure that the top of the case isn't pressing down on the swatch as it can cause it to come unglued from the card. As an example, my H&P Hero Mem is in a 120pt Pro Mold magnetic case instead of a 100pt.

The black material sticks out considerably from the surface of the card. In a 100pt magnetic the top of the case pressed on the swatch.

I have quite a few bulging cards like this, I've put them in one-touches that it fits comfortably in, without squashing the patch against the plastic inside.

Thanks for the tips guys.

I have placed the card into a 130pt one touch and it fits nicely without squashing the patch and also without the 'wiggle' room, which is good.
