Same as their release year. When those came out, it chapped me to no end that people were listing these as 1/1s when the only thing that made them scarce was the stupid sticker and accompanying COA. Otherwise, exact card from another year. No enhancement (ie. Young Guns buybacks that are now autographed) and really not worth putting a premium on.

i hope they do auto'ed buybacks of the new 20th anniversary retro cards coming up in the new 10-11 UD Series 1 release. :)

There is some really rare Buybacks also, like this one:

04-05 UD Legendary Signatures Buybacks Holo 1/1 (96-97 UD Holoview)

I paid over 100$ for this and I'm happy that I did.

I think the card above should be how buybacks are done. Make them 1/1's

The thing that sucks is that even though some are IDENTICAL to the original release, they are still listed as a "new" card. A pain in the arse for player collectors like myself who must have 1 of every card. In 03-04 (I think...maybe a year or so later) Upper Deck had massive amount of buybacks in one release. I had to chase 6 more auto'd buybacks, and I have still yet to see 3 of them ever pop up.

At least these ones are auto'd buybacks which are a bit better than other buybacks. I have a Datsyuk Upper Deck Ice buyback that is exactly like his orginal Ice redemption. It comes with a seperate LOA, but the original card has no sticker or anything to let you know that it was a buyback in the first place. Because of this, I don't see them getting any more premium money at all.

iidaemmi- very nice card. this leetch is the lowest numbered one i have and i got it for a crazy steal. i think it was like $11 if im not mistaken.

The question may be why did they do SPA buybacks?

2004-05 SP Authentic had very little "new" value so to speak. Since it was lockout year, there were no auto'd FW cards and only 6 rookies. The Sign of the Times checklist was fairly weak as well, though there were some gems here and there. To counter, they loaded the product with buybacks. I believe you were guaranteed one rookie buyback per box, along with auto cards from sets here and there (a lot of 03-04 rookie update base card autos) including current players, and a lot of short printed legend buybacks. While the redemptions were still active, boxes of the product hit more than $200 on D&A, but once the redemptions were dead and done, the box prices were basically cut in half.
