Hey Everyone,

I normally dont do this sort of thing but given the circumstances, I feel obligated to at least share.

Recently I won the auction of a Jordan Stall Panini Prime Ties 1/1. Needless to say I was extremely excited as this card is exactly what I look for in my PC. When I received the card, I was pretty bummed to see the excessive damage. I normally over look it if a corner is a little dinged, but this one was hard to ignore given the severity and the fact that I paid a lot, at least a lot for me. BUT it was a 1/1 so I was hoping i could strike a deal with the seller. I sent image of the damaged angle and requested a discount. after a respectful back and forth, we were unable to reach an agreement as the owner of the card was unwilling to give me more than a $10 discount. So I sent the card back and got a full refund.

Here's where things get shady. I recently saw the card reposted as I assumed the owner would try to sell it again. The problem is that there was no mention of the damage of the card in the post. No additional pictures and no mention in the description. I messaged the seller about my concerns, but got no reply. So I come to you all with this information as it is not included in the listed.

I have purchased a lot of cards from this seller, as i'm sure most of us have, so I was pretty bummed to see how this ended.

Here are the links and the images.

What is the damage you mention? I have a couple of those cards. The front on both is kind of wrinkled because the piece of material in the card is so thick. Its more of a production error that caused the damage. Is this the kind of damage this one has?

Ultimately the seller should disclose the damage, and I surprised the seller here hasn't. They are one of the biggest consignment sellers on ebay for cards.

Pretty ridiculous that it's not mentioned at all. I guess he's just hoping someone buys it and doesn't care about the damage.

Probstein is notorious for not disclosing things like this and not responding to messages either. Their business practices have come under fire many times. This doesn't surprise me at all.

thanks for the heads up! Bought some stuff from them never had this issue but appreciate the heads up! Sorry to hear such a nice card was damaged.

PS- noticed you are in Laguna Hills, lmk if you and any members here want to have a meet up. I'm in Hermosa Beach

The damage is in the last picture of my post. There’s separation at the top of the card. In the corner and also in the middle. It almost looks like there was water contact that did this. But I’m purely speculating. To be honest if this is typical damage to this card that sucks. I’ve been trying to get my hands on a pens prime ties since they were released. What damage do you see on your cards? Would you mind attaching a picture here? Thanks

Sorry about that, the pics didn't load on my phone. I see them now.

I asked the seller if there was any damage on the card, and specifically asked if this is the one with the corner separating. They responded by saying "Id give it an 8" Meaning they think it would grade an 8 I guess. Totally avoided my specific question.

Yea they're very shady. I've bought from them several times actually, since it just so happens they get so many consignments they get a lot of stuff i'm looking for. Most of the time haven't had any serious issues, but I've had a few minor problems with them and know plenty of people that have had serious issues. They've sold a lot of items that are KNOWN counterfeits and you contact them and there is no reply and auctions aren't taken down. That's just a shame. Just look at there feedback.

So that explains why it showed up again. I have been picking up the odd Staal card for my son, though on Canes-only cards. This one was unique enough that I was watching it both times. Looks like my interest just went to zero this time, though.

Thanks for the heads up.

I think it's dishonest not to disclose that damage. Make a note of it even if the damage is normal for this type of card. I have never bought anything from this seller as their shipping prices are too high to Canada.
